Spotted this in the Cardiff Pentwyn store. 800g white Tiger loaf on a rollback to 70p

The Tiger loaf is a white bloomer that has the top glazed with sesame oil. Smells wonderful and tastes delicious.

Sliced or unsliced available.

I love this bread The smell of it in the kitchen tempts me to eat more though:)

national. been this price for at least 2 days.

That stuff on the top is sesame oil? Doesn't taste like it. Always assumed it was some sort of vegetable fat.

Well, sesame seed oil is a vegetable fat, to be pedantic.

en.wikipedia.org/wik…oaf says it's a Dutch recipe

yeah, fair enough. I meant like vegetable shortening or something.

Thx for the link. Seems the seseme oil is just used in the baking - so you would not expect to taste it and I imagine supermarkets might use regular oil to cuit costs. The topping is rice paste? makes more sense.

Beef dripping yum! yum!

Lovely frozen goodness!

This is bread with sesame oil in the dough (not on top as previously stated).

After I saw people raving about this bread on HUKD I tried some from various supermarketsand found it to have the same appeal as any fresh bread. Nothing particularly great about tiger bread, but this is a good price if it's what you are after.

It isn't that it is better than regular supermarket bread - but the crust certainly tastes different.

Up to normal price of £1.
