This is a genuine half price offer, although these are often 3 for £3 in many places. I think these are superior to the Uncle Ben's microwave versions and I think the flavours are better. I honestly think these microwave rice pouches are genuinely superb - it may sound a little doubtful but it's worth having a couple of these beggars in for last minute, can't be bothered to cook days - expiry date is in 2010. They are done in 2 mins. Even if I have time to cook rice properly I still prefer these.

My favourite is the sun dried Tomato flavour.

The 500g ones are also half price at 1.24.

I'm not sure what you mean. Rice takes at least 10-15 mins if you do it right and these take two minutes and there is no washing up?

Or do you mean you can normally microwave rice and don't need it to be in a pouch to tell you so? :w00t:

Thanks Sophie

VOTED HOT!!
Just bought a load of these at Tescos for a quid a go ... which I thought was a pretty good deal (hmm seems not).

Are these anything like Savoury Rice as in you could microwave these up and serve them with something like a salad or lamb chop etc. or are they not tasty enough for that??

Yeah they're tasty on their own so will be just right with a salad

These are superb - the rice is much nicer than anything my rice cooker makes. Its "fluffy" and comes in a lots of flavours. Hassle free, cheap and tastes great.

Lime and Coriander for the win!

Heat added.

I agree these are wonderful - I picked some up at Tesco @ £1 each.

Now to find a Sainsburys near me! lol

I bought a load of these the other day when I saw them on offer in Sainsburys. I use them to make a quick chicken fried rice for my lunch. Tasty.

I've just finished a bowl of lime + coriander rice (bought loads when they were a £1 in Asda) with a pouch of john west tuna fillets with lime and cracked pepper dressing (3 for £3 in asda), it's a very tasty, filling lunch.
Thanks for the heads up, will be off to Sainsburys tomorrow to stock up.

These are £1 at my local Poundland. Heat Added.

It's people like you responding that make trolling worthwhile. IGNORE them.

it's been 90p for about 3 weeks in a small sainsbury on mortimer street (close to oxford street)... and it's still 90p (not 82 :S)

They have similar ones in Home Bargains near me but they aren't Tilda. I haven't tried tehm though so they may be just as good. :whistling:

If I could get these at 29p with a semi-decent sell-by date I reckon i would buy 50-100 - I jest not.

They are nice the Home Bargains ones we have them quite often I can't quite remember the actual name (and neither can my gf) but they're certainly great value for money. Our local Co-op late shop sells microwave rice sachets (again can't remember the brand) for a whopping £1.79 each.

I'm not quite sure which way to vote on this one as yes maybe if you're in the supermarket then these are much cheaper than what they'd normally be but on the other hand no where near as cheap as the Home Bargains ones. Think I'll abstain for now!

Never more then 65p in Home Bargains. Decent find outside of there though.

Fair enough! I'll be giving the HB ones a try for sure.
