is it nationwide?

Not sure if it's store specific or not. Sorry.

£23.00 seem to be an over inflated price. Normally they are around £16. The 20Kg bag is around £29.
Still £11.50 for 10KG is a cracking deal though.

Brilliant deal best basmati out there by a mile. Makes Kohinoor and india gate etc seem bland and tasteless.

can anyone if this is nationwide?

basmati is grim rice - thai fragrance rice is much nicer

not all a deal you can get better rice at similar price any half decent chinese cash and carry without an offer

Totally a personal preference of yours and nothing to do with this deal.

Basmati is different to Thai rice. For a start Basmati has a lower GI (Glycemic Index), is typically a longer grain and also is not as sticky as Thai rice. Basmati cost more as it comes fewer regions (mainly India & Pakistan) where it is becoming increasingly harder to produce due to cliamte change, as opposed to Thai / Chinese rice, which is produced in masses in comparison.

10kg bag of Tesco Basmati = <£8

Much better value.

Macclesfield Sainsburys have had 8Kg bags for £4 for around a month now. Still a good deal for a good rice though

Is it hot if it's only found at a particular store?

Tommyt...nope not a personal preference

Thai rice has a nice taste...basmati tastes if nothing..in fact you may as well eat bullets

Durham branch has 2kg for £ 8/- too.

I don't think anyone eats rice alone! sticky rice goes well with certain dishes and so does basmati. You are clearly saying this is a bad deal because you don't like the taste!?!

Ever heard of Marmite? /

I shall check this out in our store today but I've never seen it this cheap in Sainsburys

I'm going to check local today - don't need right now but the good thing is it stores for ages - if you have the space!

This is a cracking deal.

No it is not nationwide.

Great price for a very good rice , thanks OP

Saw 10Kg bags of Basmati rice for similar money both in Lidl and Morrisons earlier this week, not sure of the brands though.
