A few months back, I lost my keys in the car. I'd got to a job site, jumped out, went to the boot, and put on my PPE - boots, coveralls, glasses, gloves, hard hat. I grabbed my toolbags for the day, and went to lock the car. No keys. I Searched everywhere. No luck. I have a habit of putting my keys on top of my toolbag when I'm putting PPE on, so I emptied the boot of all the tools, ppe, spares. Twice. No luck. After a whole hour of lookingin/ around the car/toolbags, I found the keys. They were in my back pocket. After the job I went straight round to the nearest shop that sold these (Halfords), and bought one.
Now I have little faith in the crowd based network finding my keys if I lose them 'properly'. As others have poined out, someone else needs to have the app, and Location Services running to aid me, but that's not why I bought one.

Most of the time if others are like me, I 'lose' my keys in a known area - usually the house. With a Tile on my keys, I can find them in seconds. Others will say, "get into the habit of putting your keys in the same place every time you don't need them". This is good advice, my keys usually live in a box near the front door.

Except when they're not. This helps for those times when they're not where they're supposed to be. As long as I'm within range of the tile, 45 meters in the case of the Mate, I can find it.

The other function that I have had more use out of, is the Tile can find your phone. This may be a foreign concept to many people today, but I don't always have my mobile permanently on my person. In fact sometimes there may be several tens of minutes where I haven't looked at it. Yes, strange and unusual behaviour, I think you'll agree. So, several times I have put my phone down and can't remember where. This isn't a problem as pressing the button on the Tile rings the phone, even on Silent.

I have yet to lose track of both my phone, and my keys. This could be a problem when it inevitably happens, but it isn't. With the app, I can share the Tile with another user. e.g. the wife (also my work phone). Now she can find the keys for me using the app. Or she could ring my phone, then I use my phone to find my keys. Either way, I find my 'lost' items.

For me, Tile is useful.

Does anyone have experiences of using these please?
Haven’t the pro version but the Tile mates are brilliant.

I bought a four pack on prime day. Have one attached (albeit with a hair bobble) to the main tv remote control. We’ve had to locate it about ten times. I definitely recommend them as have saved me hours hunting for the damn remote but I didn’t need the four pack! The sound is loud and the app is easy to use.

yeah I wish it would go back down to that price, seems to be that it's only ever gone that low once, next time I assume will be back friday
Thanks OP, just ordered. Hoping for a better price to pick some more up in the future. But will start with these.

I have the Pro and the Sport and I don't bother with them because they are almost useless. I have never managed to find my phone from the tile and the tile community is almost none existent so forget about locating a tile from a distance.
Does anyone use these for pets?
I don’t get this, remote control possibly car keys anything else ? Worth attaching this too

So can these be used as a car tracker if your car gets stolen ?

No. Short range tracking (of the order of tens of feet)

I've used these to find my phones loads of times, always worked fine.

It's one of those products, if you do need to use them, they're priceless, if you don't use them they're a waste of money.

Extra insurance, just in case.
I have to agree the tile community aspect of this is a waste of time. The local tracking works, sort of if you are close enough for long enough. I think there are probably cheaper alternatives without the community that doesn't work anyway so maybe read reviews and go for one of those.
The phone tracking when pressing the device twice doesn't seem to reliably work for me, but the other way round works great
My noise cancelling headphones have them built in. Never had to use it yet (thankfully).

For those wanting to attach these to car keys, why don't you spend £1 on those key fob whistle things? Surely a cheaper alternative!?!?

because they have like 5 meters in range, no location history, no community (albiet may not be the best for everyone)
