Just ordered a pair of these for myself, just in time for the bad weather too !

Sadly over the years the quality is on the decline given the premium prices, most items are made under license in the far east with other brand names tagged on. Items are made based on price point and quality is compromised.

Yes poor now got 2 pairs wore out son

Still got a couple of pairs of the original PRO' s that i would be happy to sell for £59.99 but they definately dont have the name for quality they used to have.

I don't think they were implying that these were fakes. The truth is that the makes we consider(ed) great are rarely as good as they used to be.

Take Dr Martens for example. They used to be made in the UK and there was no such thing as a bad pair. Nowadays, as mentioned, they are made under licence in places where costs are less. I've been wearing their 2796 dealer boots for ages, but I've found that one's made in Thailand last me for 2 years, whereas the pair I had that were made in Indonesia barely lasted a year. By contrast, my first pair, made in the UK, had been with me for about 6 years until I lost them on a night out.

I've found the same thing with Barbour, Hunter, Belstaff, Fender, and every make that Sports Direct purchase ;-) Whilst I don't have specific experience of this decline in quality standard with timberland, a Google search tells a similar tale.

Anyway, with that said, I can't find these shoes for less anywhere else, so regardless of where they're made, This is a good deal, and that's what this site is all about. I just wanted to explain what (I believe) walsall123 meant.

dont forget postage is £6.50!!

Good deal, but I'm wondering why no one else wants to know how Darwa lost a pair of boots on a night out?

Cheers,

BS...

Got a pair of these a few months ago, great looking boots

You're better off buying a bona fide pair of hiking boots like Meindl Burma GTX's (mine) or Scarpa Delta GTX's for a bit more money and knowing they're a quality item and will last. These'll blow any Timberland boots away!
