All credit to Tek-Monkey on WAL82G22's post for finding this - not trying to steal their thunder, but did suggest they post it as a deal and I thought it was too good to pass up for others.

Some iffy reviews, but for under £20, me thinks it's worth a punt.

It appears 741R is the model number and the number after is the size - also has been recommended to go up a size.

Darwa:
Allow me to enlighten you

Read it as 7 41 R, or UK7, EU41, Width R (regular).
- or not?!!

Prices correct at time of posting (All dark brown although some sizes available in other colours):

Size 7 = £20.20
Size 8 = £20.18
Size 9 = £19.73
Size 10 = £19.73
Size 11 = £20.29
Size 12 = £26.47
Size 13 = £22.44
Size 14 = £47.33
(Size 6.5 = £89.99!)

To me, 'nad mnay' sounds Scottish. Took me a few moments to realise it was a typo and not regional dialect.

Happy for you to post it mate, I didn't as I had no idea what the 741R bit meant and didn't want to get people ordering some weird albanian shoe sizes or something!

However, having just looked at the listing, the standard I described doesn't appear to apply to Amazon. Heh

I think the number after is the size, i.e. 741R 10, but you may be right about R for regular width.

Amazon does have some strange descriptions etc. sometimes. The 741R appears to be the product number/designation, as also features here (but for >£100!):

Also free returns, so could order 2 sizes to be sure and return the other.

Yeah, very odd.

In my youth, I ran a shoe shop, so I'd assumed that they were using the standard we used to use for ordering. I'm a UK 9 with wide feet, so I'd order a 943W (replace the W for an 'E' if more than standard widths are available).

I've ordered myself a 741R 9 and with free returns, I'll easily be able to sort it out if need be.

Thanks

Several dodgy reviews, not worth a punt if they,'re going to shred your heels. Cheap for a reason it seems.

Heat added. Thanks OP. Went for a pair of the black shoes size 13.5 at £24.73. Hopefully it won't be a fit smaller than a size 13.

Just ordered the size 9.

On the confirmation page it states "9741R 9 UK" so definitely a size 9,

2 reviews out of 11 mention this, the others all either say great or great but sized wrong. I'm happy to give them a go.

And I'm sure reviews are affected by the price paid at the time - did the negative reviewers buy them this cheap?

Would you go for the Timberland or the Merrell? I believe the latter one is considered "more serious" brand?

I've tried these on in a shop - very narrow - but I have also tried the Merrels on as well - also very narrow.

I also found the Timberland sizing to be very small.

What will you be doing in them? I just wanted some waterproof trainers, and gore-tex at this price point is a steal. If I was doing proper walking I'd want ankle support as well so would go for boots, there are several Merrell ones available at the min.

Look cheaply made from the pictures, but I guess you can't tell.
Also, try finding cheaper goretex shoes for this money.

can we return it if its doesn't fit.
Amazon normally has good returns policy

I just took my last pair of Merrells back to the co-op, they do collect plus so just needed to drop it off with a label on it.

Brand tramp!

What a sickener, I'm a size 14! could be worse I guess, I could be a 6.5...

Goretex waterproof hiking shoes for £17.58? Get in!

Merrells look a bit fancier but not all waterproof. Style over substance

Cheers OP

Thanks.
Timely find as I am surrounded by trainers that are uncomfortable, comfortable but worn out and one or two nice ones so some £20 knock-abouts of that quality should serve me well and enable me to get rid.

Crikey. There were 5 pairs of 13's left when I ordered....all gone now!

And you know what they say about men with big feet

Mine delivered and picked up from collect+ store a couple of hours ago. Glad went up a size as they do seem they could be narrow/tight.

If I was paying full price (£110 at Jones), I would be picky or disappointed with the quality of the finishing e.g. the insole has been cut a little jaggedy and glue lines of sole could be a little neater in one or two places, but for under £20, no complaints.

All in, I'm well happy and I hope you are too.

Timberland for show, Merrell for a pro!

Not sure what you mean by not valid?

Sizes 7-10 in dark brown still around £20 mark, which is the colour I've focused on from the beginning, as I didn't think much of the others.

Yup. They wear big shoes and are thankful for urban myths

Forgot to grab mine and am in Wales for a week now, good job I have other waterproofs as not looking good!

Amazing find! Ordered. Read everything above and ordered a size above my normal one. Many thanks!

Incorrect data.:p

The answer....obviously.....is they have BIG socks

Size 10 still available, the rest are £90 now! I'm a 10 and went for the 11s, can confirm they are a narrow fit but they feel good on. Bargain for £20

Thought you were in Wales for a week and forgot to get them?!

Mine just turned up now - great service from "Amazon Logistics" free super-saver delivery. I wasn't aware of any couriers that deliver on a Sunday, but the basic bog-standard Amazon one does. Nice..

They fit fine, just a normal size 9 so I'm glad I didn't order up a size otherwise they'd be too loose.

Cheers OP!
