Just don't order anything from house of fraser, you will regret it. Honestly, just look at all the reviews.

Dirty items, only half of order fulfilled, missing items, wrong items sent, on day of delivery the courier said it's having to be returned as stock is damaged, nothing received weeks after ordering (even after some people paid for express delivery). The list goes on.

Then for those many poor sods like myself who had an out of stock email moments after ordering.... Weeks later and still no money back.

They are also ignoring all social media contact, their email address bounces, nobody responds on their web chat and they have no phone number.

Why would anyone want to order from a company that will behave in this way? It could even be a sign that in a few weeks or months they are going to fold entirely and then you will really be in a mess.

HUKD's should blacklist them.

Yes that's over £350 of my money stuck in limbo for over 2 weeks (support have ignored all forms of contact throughout but had continued updating their social media).

They used to be a good brand but have been run into the ground since he purchased
House of Fraser. Once a great store before Cashley stepped in.
why? because not everyone will have problems, most probably won't, and it's a reasonable risk to take if you get a good deal. your money isn't lost, just in limbo as you say

right now all businesses are having issues so it's no wonder you are having problems. that's why i've cut down my shopping a lot, but i'd go for these if they had my size. you just gotta be a bit more careful right now, use a credit card if you can etc. buyer beware. i'd rather trust them than an unknown company. haven't bought anything from frasers in years, and that was instore during sales when they used to have some decent stuff. not sure if they've been taken over by MA or something now

1) Look at trustpilot, facebook and twitter. It appears that everyone is having problems (not one decent review, comment or anything like that. Even their £100 a week giveaway contest was ignored).

2) The money is "lost in limbo". For me specifically I had an amount in my paypal account which has been held by PayPal. House of fraser aren't communicating or doing anything, PayPal have said they can't do anything (HOF have to accept or decline the amount). If HOF continue to do nothing, then after 30 days the pending transactions automatically cancel and I get my money back. That's 30 days where I can't spend my money on something else.

3) You say you trust them more than an unknown company but haven't bought from them in years. I, like many trusted them more than an unknown company which is why I had no reason to look up reviews.... I wish I had now.

4) Part of their problems were caused by an end of financial year fiddle. Both last year and this year in March they listed 1000's of items of stock at super low prices, but the stock didn't actually exist. People trusted the brand name and bought loads of the stock only to receive out of stock emails right after paying, then having to wait weeks and even months for their money back. This was a last minute attempt by HOF to inflate the sales figures for that financial year. This is nothing to do with all retailers having problems.

5) They have been taken over by Ashley ages ago.

Add to that many other awful business practises such as if you receive damaged/marked items (It has happened to a lot of people), then you have to pay out of your own pocket to return it to them (you can't even just take said item back to a store) and they don't refund postage. Then, as many people have experienced, even though goods have been signed for, people are left waiting weeks/months for their money back.

People can make their own minds up and buy whatever they like, it doesn't bother me as it's none of my concern. I'm just voicing genuine concerns and with myself being far from the only one, it's really best not to take that risk.

1) people are more inclined to post to complain than say they are happy with something they've bought. plus it's social media. thus "appears"
2) call it what you want. it's not lost money. i was using your term to agree with you. it's money you will get back. i was agreeing with you
3) i'll trust who i want, you can trust who you want. personal choice
4) who cares. you either get the stuff you want or don't. right now some people got far bigger problems, just losing jobs or catching something that's going to kill them, or have friends or family who have died or dying
5) the guys loaded, so whilst he doesn't seem the nicest person in the world, he must have something right to make so much money from retail

loads of shops have business practises people wouldn't like if they knew. that's life. so buyer beware normally, but more especially now. with staff being furloughed and losing jobs there's going to be delays and problems with loads of things for a while

Tbh im glad people like Sparkz put up posts like this. It's what makes HUKD good site...without that feedback you'd never know that things arent quite as good with house of fraser?

Feedback is vital when ordering online, it helps you

Me too, I really value people's feedback on here. I've personally spent hundreds and hundreds at HOF but no longer intend to buy anything from them.

1) That old chestnut. They have over 500,000 followers and yet not one person has stepped in to say they've had no problems?

2) I've never said it's lost money. It's money in Limbo that I can't spend because I have no access to it because of house of fraser. I want my money now, not in 2 weeks time.

3) Yep you can, but if you blindly trust a company with such a bad reputation now, don't come crying to us here if it all goes wrong. Anyway by your own words you haven't bought anything from there in years so haven't exactly had a direct buying experience for a long time.

4) You either get the stuff or you don't? That's how businesses work is it? You buy things and think "oh well, I might never get it, let's just waste money". This has nothing to do with the coronavirus, even the government have said that warehouse and online shopping can continue. If someone wants a little pick me up during low times, then good for them, the government haven't locked down online shopping.

5) The guy is loaded? That means he's always 100% at the top of his game? He may have built up his wealth in the past but he's bringing down once reputable brands.

You talk about staff and losing jobs. Ashley was putting staff at risk by trying to blag Sports direct as an essential service (For exercise equipment while people are isolating) and keep the physical stores open.

1) some people have better things to do in life than post on social media to say they haven't had problems with things. i do a job where no ever thanks me when i do it right but i get hell if i don't
2) did i say you said it was lost money? i thought i said i had agreed with you on that point. i agree with you on your point.
3) i don't blindly trust anything. i consider everyone out to get me and take care. buyer beware
4) yup, that's how business works. if you don't get something, you have options like getting a refund
5) nope it doesn't. that's why i didn't say it

look, think of this. it's a pair of boots no one needs, it's £80. you will either get the boots or the money back. if that's your biggest concern right now, consider yourself a VERY lucky person, as right now millions of people are worried about their jobs and their lives, so think of the £80 as a complete bargain for peace of mind if it detracts from concerns about job losses and life losses. not to mention that, but it will serve as a very cheap reminder of buyer beware in future. so basically all good on those points, even if you don't think of that or disagree

I haven't got time to keep responding but yes, you put "call it what you want. it's not lost money" implying of course that I'd said it's lost money.

I will leave it there anyway, peace out

each time i posted i indicated i was agreeing with you. the second and third time i said i agreed with you. it's a pain in the arse but not the end of the world and better to have a problem like this than some of the problems others are facing right now

Similar experience. Ordered something on the 21st of March. Still "processing". Got a recent apology email from them but even given the current situation, it's a joke. Definitely agree that they're not trustworthy and should be blacklisted. I thought mine was an isolated problem but then just went on twitter.
