These are good timers - I bought one from screwfix for about £12 must be 8 years ago. The randomness is a good idea, since when you go away you can set lights to come on at a fixed time plus a random amount up to 20 minutes. So lights do not come on at exactly the same time every day - a sure sign that you are away to anyone watching your house.

Nice find holly100

Sure .. :-D

A few are used as timers on battery back-up systems ... a 12 hour charge every week.

4 are used to control twin 8W exterior lighting units .. when I fitted them 15 years ago .. dusk 'til dawn sensors were very expensive.

Oh .. and the rest for a few table lamps.

My SuperSwitch timers cost about £18 each all those years ago ..

If I remember correctly SuperSwitch was owned by MK then .. They also did the wallplate light touch dimmers with remote control ... and they are all still working perfectly!

In the event of a long power outage .. I doubt the timer's internal rechargable batteries would function for long after all these years.

So it was in the back of mind every time I looked at electrical hardware in the shops etc. .. only to find unknown brands and over the top prices! :x

PS .. As I have never used Asda Direct before today ... Does anyone know who normally delivers Asda Direct small items?

Thanks.

Good price, hot.

Excellent Price!

Good price especially if you want small units.

I went for the larger style which are on sale in Maplin £4.99 maplin.co.uk/Mod…spx?ModuleNo=97806

Might get 2 of those from ASDA too.

Seems abit silly that still charge £4.95 even for store collection!

People wondering what we're using these for? Not security but I have them on my house landline phone, doorbell and most of my TV stuff (not Freeview recorder).

Set and forget and no numpties phoning or at my door selling pegs.

I think people can work that out. :whistling:

I voted cold because I have two of these products and they have a battery in them they will not tell you the correct time if you have use the item most often otherwise good price.

The battery only kicks in to maintain both time and settings in the event of a power outage.

Normal function will return when the power is turned back on. :whistling:
