I'm a member of your club too......Sadly.......:{

This is a bit like AA, i too am a member of that club!
Have some heat.

Timex are a scummy company that treated their Dundee workforce appallingly.

I wouldn't take a Timex watch even if they were giving it away for free.

Something interesting happened in Dundee? oO

Wikipedia I am sure doesn't tell the full story, but surely if the company already needed
to make layoffs everyone going on strike was only going to end in a bad way.

I read that article and see a company trying to make necessary adaptions to survive being opposed by an a dinosaur union from the 1960's - the result? The poor workers ALL lost their jobs. If we don't make it for a sensible price in the UK you can bet your back teeth someone in China or India will, all the Len mccluskey's in the world won't change economic reality.

Very sensible watch from a reputable company at a great price, Heat.

Good deal from a respected watch brand, have some heat. Unfortunately I'm in the "banned" club too.

With regard to the Wikipedia article, it's a bit silly to avoid a brand simply because it has closed down a factory, if that is the basis of your principles then you'll find very little on the high street that you can purchase. It looks like Timex had supported the local community for four decades and had to re-act to business pressures in order to survive, rather than detract from the deal I'll stop short there.

Thanks OP.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Beware of fakes direct from Amazon. I purchased a Breil and found it was fake when it needed a new battery.

Instead of receiving 90% of their wages, everyone in Dundee received a big fat 0.

Winners? Timex and probably some Chinese/Indian worker where the new factory is located.

This is a ruthless world. Only the adaptable survive and the cunning thrive.

Says 'Indiglo' on the face of the dial.

I quite like the look of this watch..... but i couldn't bring myself to pay £90 for a Timex.

as opposed to the other watch companies that use foreign slave and child labour being somehow better?

For those of you who purchased the model with the metal band, the manual is wrong about sizing and removing links for the band. You have to have 2 tiny screw drivers and unscrew the screws on either sides of the band links, remove your links then re-screw.
