Found 13th Oct 2009Made hot 13th Oct 2009
Not so much a deal, but a general heads-up.

No more spend requirement to get free super saver delivery at Amazon. The end of filler items is here!

Does everything on the site qualify for free Super Saver Delivery?
The only items that aren't included in the offer are gift certificates and items purchased from third parties on Amazon.co.uk Marketplace (unless marked as Fulfilled by Amazon).

Great

Surprised it took them this long!! Lots of 98p purchases coming soon... :@D

Took ages last night trying to get to £5 for free delivery, typical!Glad theyve done it though!

Awsome thanks for sharing!!

about time, ideal

Just in time for a long postal strike.......

Free Supersaver Delivery = Buy now, get it delivered sometime after the General Election if the posties haven't stolen it or 'lost' it (to use the alternative excuse)

First Class = similar to the above, with more chance of a postie stealing it or 'losing' it.

Express Delivery = 'Buy now, get it delivered tomorrow by a different, modernised delivery company that hasn't been over-run by lefty trade union commies'.

Great the minimum £5 wasn't a hardship but even better now.

Royal Mail has lost the Amazon contract guardian.co.uk/uk/…kes

ooo yay!!

Thanks for letting us know OP.

Probably best to edit your title to include Amazon and it will get a lot more views.

OP title edited, to make it more explanatory

Good stuff - thanks for posting

Fantastic offer except the concern is whether consumers will exploit the free delivery to send low priced goods costing a pound or two. If the company make a loss, the deal could unravel and with the buyer ultimately suffering when Amazon change their postage policy to it's original offer of having to spend fifteen pounds to receive the Super Saver delivery. A similar offer happened with W H Smiths last year with their free delivery policy on all purchases being changed to a fifteen pound spend.

Understandably Amazon have the purchasing power and negotiating potential to offer the free service, but remember the consequence to the postal companies bidding for the contracts and companies supplying goods, the reductions could be catastrophic. So beware, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

Oplik. Great spot and well done for posting the offer first. Heat added.

Thanks for the info

Is this permanent or just in the lead up to Christmas?! Heat added.

Ignorance is bliss!

I'm sure last time super saver was offered people were charged on their card later. It was a free trial and they were then automatically signed up and charged unless they cancelled.

fabulous! thanks!

If the end result is the demise of Royal Mail then they only have themselves to blame.

Don't the workers think that people in other professions are also losing jobs / getting pay freezes / having forced shutdowns etc. ??

It's a global recession out there, take it on the chin like everyone else!

Royal Mail are the only company I ever hear complaining about pay. :?

HERMES has won the AMAZON delivery contract . .. not sure when its starting. My (soon to be ex) wife is the local HERMES courier, and AMAZON deliveries have been anticipated for the last 3 months or so . . . . . . watch this space . . . . . . . .

Posties should get out their history books and look at what happened to the coal miners..:whistling: and then call off the strike.:p

Just as long as Hermes aren't as bad as Home delivery network... having had parcels left in the neighbour's recycling bin by them or a book with a footprint on the packaging (not an issue i've had with royal mail to date).

Glad they've ditched Royal Mail, but not happy about HDNL - they make Royal Mail look vaguely competent.

Hermes are fine, prompt delivery friendly couriers happy to leave parcels with neighbours/ in porch etc...
They deliver my next & m&mdirect orders have had no probs with them!!

I knew that will happen! When they dropped to £5 from £15, I knew they already commited to follow Play.com!

They deliver your package and a cold sore!

I'm surprised as i thought this would affect their Amazon Prime membership.

Not at all - Prime is unlimited NEXT DAY delivery, this is "super saver" delivery (ie: several days).
