******UPDATE*********************************
*******Thomas cook have changed the minimum spend too £150 now********
******************************

If you need your room for 2 nights @ weekends @ Hilton,go through Thomas cook/hotel section/ Hilton sale on left side of page, you can then use the code for a further £30 discount on booking.
Remember to compare Hilton rate & Thomas cook rate after discount,to find best option.
I found going through Thomas Cook saved £20 on a booking of the same dates for Manchester Hilton.
Also 8% Quidco too.
Just passing this info on,in case the link was missed by anyone.

Hi, have gone through Thomas Cook website as instructed, but has anybody any idea why it is adding an extra £10 per night? It says:
This fee is charged by the hotel when the number of guests in the room exceeds the room's base occupancy (typically 2).
Bearing in mind I have only booked a room with two people in - thanks in advance.

I have the same :x, i'm trying to book a family double for only two people.

How can there be a surcharge??

So strange, you can have 2 adults per room ( but as you said,it charges per extra adult),but no children with them,:?
you can have 1 adult and 1 child, but you don,t get charged a surcharge for the child???

It's cheaper to book 1 adult and 1 child, but the rooms are usually designed with extra beds/sofa for kids......
I guess it's a gamble but if you book room with a child and turn up @ hotel.....with 2 adults and a child, would they charge you extra,as hilton hotels are per room not per person....
I guess you could always call hotel after booking to check:?

seems twice as expensive for me than the actual Hilton site! I give up lol Good luck to all who manage it.

Thanks for the heads up on this -just booked the hotel near docklands for Bon jovi in june -Whoo hoo!

nice work, well spotted.

Have you tried going through just normal the hotel section on Thomas cook, I tried this, with booking 1 adult and 1 child, got it too £45 total.........
then I'm thinking if the child can,t go :whistling:,phone hotel and replace with adult,I,m pretty sure they would not charge extra,as it's per room @ hilton

Any idea why this might be? I haven't used as this is my first booking.

Great Tip, H&R added.

Has anybody got to the bottom of this extra person thingy? The prices quoted for the hotel I want to visit are the same as on Hilton's website for 2 people, so why are they adding an extra £7 a night for the second person?

can someone give me a link to the hilton rooms cant get one anywhere near the price of others quoted?

Still confused - must be Monday-morningitis!

Base Rates are shown inclusive for 2 adults, yet they add on another £7 per night for the 2nd adult. I've emailed Thomas Cook for an explanation and will post the response if I get one.
With the £30 code it's still cheaper than booking via other sites, but it's only £16 cheaper. Also, using the code probably negates the Quidco cashback (I've been very negative about Quidco in the past, but find it works very well recently). That knocks another £7 or so off the saving.
