Three offer free 0800 calls to new contracts taken up, however chances are youre now on a very strong 3g/4g network

You too can dial 0800 free by using Skype, simply download the Skype app for your phone and when you want to dial an 0800 number, simply dial the number from within the Skype app and its free.

Safe and encrypted with skype, can you even trust the other "free" 0800 busters etc to not listen in?

Saves using any of your inclusive minutes

WeQ4U is the best by far and converts all 08 nos to landline and dials them for you.

No need of different app for different nos.
will 0800 0845 an 0870 numbers soon become a thing of the past?.
This is a great free tip thanks OP. Heat added.
Or you can just get 3, a very strong 3g/4g network.

WEQ4U is by far the most brave. Haven't heard any scare stories yet but they have the ability to listen into every detail you pass over the phone. very generous of whoever is running this service to pick up the thousands it must cost. I use say no to 0870 for peace of mind but each to their own.
Still use your data with strong 3G or 4g signal. There are 100 of apps allow you to call free 0800. It is free from 3 network and t mobile
Or you can use callcashback.co.uk and be paid for phoning 0800 numbers
i find if you need to dial numbers to select menu options on telephone, skype does not work. shame really
I wouldnt call Skype 'safe and encrypted'. Its owned by Microsoft, and as such, calls will almost certainly go via us data centres.
    How do you join callcashback?

How does someone register for this and have you used this yourself?

You download skype to your phone and just have a username and password, skype has been around for years and years, and once youre logged in then just press call phones and enter the number and youre away.
Alternatively, just go to the nearest phone box. 0800 numbers are also free there!

Bit difficult seeing as they've closed.
0800 numbers are also free from most landlines too like the package we're on with Virgin. Not going to vote on this one as it's not something new, 0800 numbers are usually free so one day I put 2 and 2 together and bingo call went through without charge. I'm taking ages and ages ago now. Usually use it to phone Tesco 0800 for the deals that pop up with a few mates to check their area too.

Nice to alert people but not something new.

Also, how is this "a little cleverness"? I don't see anything clever about putting in an 0800 number into a phone dialer.

Hence the title saying its a tip for people to get 0800 numbers free on their mobiles which most networks do not include as part of inclusive minutes package.

But again, it's the same principle. Download Skype, enter in an 0800 number. Skype is Skype and makes no difference whether you use it on Mobile or Desktop.
call quality with skype is really hit and miss

Clearly the main point is the ability to make free 0800 calls from mobile or desktop, i.e. not having a landline. seems you have misunderstood this description and felt the need to add useless comments.

its excellent for me on 3g, so should be just as good for others on 3g/4g or wifi.

No, I'm saying that why would it differ. 0800 calls are free, as I said. Good way to make people aware but this has always been the case. The title should have been "Free 0800 calls through Skype".
    Lol at all the alternatives.

You can also look up the address on Google maps and drive to their office to talk in person
Thanks for that. Always thought it isn't possible to call 0800 numbers or ANY 'special' numbers in Skype.
    super nice one mate
    weq4u best si far
Or, if you are with THREE just phone 0800 and it's free anyway!

Hi it's not free unless you take out one of their new contracts which includes this. All existing customers on three who haven't upgraded tariffs will still get charged this.
