Been watching the recent prc 200 price drops (being discontinued) and with the voucher this is the best one so far in my opinion. The white face looks awesome (ive seen one before). can't believe the rrp was £450ish, but £115 delivered is brilliant. Would of been even better if it had been the metal strap version too ....

the 20% off voucher is available thru the fashion newsletter email, you'll see it in the voucher section of hotuk

too much for this watch, should be around £45

There appears to be a lot of these Tissot watches at vastly reduced prices at the moment and after doing some research it would seem that the ones with the biggest discount from the RRP are the ones with the poorer reviews, although to be fair it is a very good looking time piece but I prefer the reviews and build quality of the one that was on HotUK the other day. hotukdeals.com/dea…559 (which I did order by the way at the stupid price of £97.53 with the fashion code of 20% OFF that bigbaz supplied.

I can't agree with you on this particular prc200, this one is the full chronograph and gets great reviews, but the price you paid for that version is fantastic

OP, put Amazon in title.

Imo the cheapest Tissot will also be better than an average watch store like Timex.

what a ridiculous comment. These are exceptional quality watches in a league above most mainstream watches and comparable with high end timepieces.

I have a fair bit of experience with Tissot watches (including helping others to spot fake PRC 200 models) but I just received three of these direct from Amazon and either Tissot's quality control has gone way downhill in recent months or Amazon is inadvertently selling a very dodgy batch which they have been given by one of their suppliers.

Mine are going straight back despite the bargain price, because I have no confidence that they are kosher.

I'm still gutted that I missed out on the prc200 the other day. This watch is a cracking deal but I'm not 100% keen on the face.

However, great deal and voting hot

Well that was a massive impulse buy.

Thanks, and also, dammit.

I went for this one - amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1

Wanted a steal strap watch and not fussed about the chronograph functions.

I would be interested to see where the "Great reviews" are because the ones I was looking at for this model were on Amazon and were NOT particularly favorable

I was about to buy this last weekend:

http://www.johnlewis.com/citizen-eco-drive-cb0013-04a-men's-world-perpetual-leather-strap-watch/p159940

What do the watch geeks think?

I am able to get some discount from John Lewis, bringing the price of this watch down to about £245.

I do like the time piece shown by the OP, but do you guys think the watch I have linked above is worth that extra £100?

Good price for a Tissot assuming they are legit.

Exactly. As I said, I have real concerns about the ones I have received direct from Amazon and as such, they are going back pronto.

I don't understand this, it has 2 x 3*, 5 x 4* and 5 x 5* reviews? Or am I missing something?

I felt pretty smug with myself when I got this watch a few weeks ago for 1/2 price (£135) from the Ernestjones site.

At the time I couldn't understand why they were selling it so cheap consider everywhere else it was £270 minimum.

I think it is a good watch. At first I was going to return it as I wasn't sure that it suited me. But decided to keep it as a watch to wear out for special occasions. I have to re-iterate what others have said, there seems to be an issue with SOME of the dials not aligning up. One of mine doesn't line up exactly.

Still good watch for the price.

as amazon are the seller and not the marketplace they should be legit. I had a fake one from ebay a while back and sent it back, even though it was very impressive. Only spotted when you look at the date window. If its not bevelled its a fake !!!

went out of stock as i tried to purchase, still showing as in stock until purchase window

When I looked it showed a Marketplace seller. Though I agree if it's Amazon you'd expect it to be legit.

Only sellers at low prices have very low ratings. I'd trust it at this price from Amazon, but not those marketplace sellers.
Bargain for those that got them from Amazon.

Mine have come direct from Amazon and I am 99.9% sure that they are fake. I have been buying Tissot watches (including a number from the PRC 200 range) for years and have never seen such a poor quality product.

I found this on a search: replicaswatches.eu/rep…tml

Maybe it's the source of many a dodgy watch

Expired? Can't use vouchers with marketplace sellers, and Amazon seems OOS.

I was very surprised it was applicable in the first instance but wasn't complaining as I saved myself 20% thanks to bigbaz

It still works absolutely fine. You just need to use it on watch purchases from Amazon, not from Marketplace sellers.

Would you mind sharing which aspects made you suspicious? I did a quick google search about what to look for, but if you could help narrow it down that would be really helpful. Mine isn't the chronograph one, just a standard face prc200.

Here you go.

Sadly, it looks like others are having the same issue.

I've got one of these ordered with Amazon, slightly worried about this talk of fakes. Fortunately I have the black face version to compare it with (purchased from Goldsmiths).

Which black face one do you have? The black and yellow one with the chronograph, or the black and red one with a relatively plain dial? If it's the black and red one, could you possibly check a couple of details on your watch for me? I have some real suspicions about the black face version I have received from Amazon.

I've got the black/yellow chronograph model (great looking watch), you could try a local jewellers if you're really concerned.

Hi,

I'm the Op of this thread and got my watch this morning and have very bad news ... its definately fake, I apologise to all who've bought one of these thinking amazon would be selling genuine watches.

Here's a quick rundown of why I think the watch is fake :

The Accessories:
The box itself is really tatty, lots of glue marks, generally poor
No Operation Manual
Warranty card not stamped
History of Tissot box installed in box upside down
Poor quality booklet printing e.g. page numbers in random positions or missing

The Watch:
looks ok at first look, but ...

strap is cheap looking and too thick to be genuine
hands dont line up (i was going to calibrate this, but then discovered no manual)
only the hands are luminous, number bars should be also

Pretty upset by this, will be complaining

I still thank you for posting this deal, I'm more than happy that the watch I've received is genuine. I will get it double checked at my local jewellers though as I need a new hole in the strap (I have stupidly small wrists!).

The box seems fine and is identical to the one that came with the black/yellow watch I purchased from Goldsmiths.
I am also missing the operational manual, which seems odd, but if they have bothered to fake the the warranty card, warranty services book, and moto gp 2009 book, why would they not do the operation manual too?
The page numbers are not perfectly aligned in the corners, but this is the same on the Goldsmiths purchased watch.
Warranty card is not stamped, but Amazon are not an AD so I wouldn't expect it to be.

The strap is quite thick (especially the closer to the dial it gets), but this is the same as my other watch.
The second hand on the chronograph wasn't quite central, but a reset of the chronograph corrected this.
Only the hands appeared to light up at first, but after leaving the watch in sunlight for an hour or so the number bars also now light up, probably because it's been in the box a few years (it was discontinued a while ago and the moto gp booklet is for the 2009 season!),

in case anyone is interested ... Ive posted images of what mine arrived like and show how to tell that the watch is a fake

amazon.co.uk/gp/…dav

ive had no real reply to my dealing with amazon other than we're investigating and no, you can't have a replacement

update from amazon: "I can understand that you need a replacement of the item. As the item is a counterfeit, we are unable to issue a replacement also the item is not in stock with Amazon and we have removed the item from Amazon retail. If you wish, you may purchase from a third party seller."

oh well....
