Why sad? Tissot titanium watch for £200 with a Swiss quartz that is accurate to 4 seconds a year! Wow
Excellent price for a Tissot
The description says the case is 30mm. This must be ladies size?

But if accurate time is the main goal, then your phone has it. A wrist watch is increasingly an item that people choose to wear because they like them rather than because they need to. And an automatic movement is so much more likeable, you can feel it moving when you move your wrist, never needing a battery is appealing too. So a quartz watch, even if it looks good, is a great price and is accurate will never have the same appeal.

I think everyone is aware of that, but to expect an auto Tissot for £199 is unrealistic in my opinion.

Anyone who thinks a phone is comparable to a wristwatch doesn't have a clue!
No one compared auto to quartz!
Anyway! Quartz has major benefits over auto in so many ways!
All about choice! Needs! And wants!
So many Quartz haters for no reason!
Anyway that watch would have double the RRP if it was auto!
The deal isn't for an auto! Why are you talking about auto?

Yes agree. But the point was that people don't buy quartz watches because they are very accurate, even if it's a great price. I voted this hot, is a good price - but I wouldn't want one.

Don’t think you should speak for “people” who do you think you are? How do you know what “ people” want? Think you mean “YOU” and guess what mate! I bought a Bulova precisionist because it’s accurate! Guess I’m not a “person”

OK .... If this is Tissot Model T069.417.44.031.00 then it is a good deal. If this is the Model stated, then YES it is Quartz but YES it also has a Titanium case and bracelet. Amazon have two separate listings for the watch, one which is fulfilled by Amazon and only £225, so that would be an option.
Not my cup of tea, I like Tissot but not Chronos and Titanium is by nature and for my tastes too light. Heat.

Why would the same watch but £25 more be an option?

TK Maxx V Fulfilled by Amazon.

From what I have seen, peoples experiences with TK Maxx have not always been the best, particularly with watches. So I was just throwing it out there whilst highlighting the Titanium case and bracelet and making the point that this is a deal. Folk seem to have got hung up on the Quartz part and missed the case/strap material.

Yeah, Ive bought lots of watches from TKMaxx and always been brand new sealed with protective material on watch ect.
Only grey area is the warranty! But isn't that the same with Amazon? Can't put Amazon market place on the warranty card.
So it's just 12 months from TKMaxx and 12 months from Amazon.
Can't see the benefit from buying from Amazon marketplace to be honest.
This watch is a 2012 model and TKMaxx buy bankrupt stock from suppliers and jewelers allowing the prices to be absolute bargains.
WimboJimbo ... Good to know your experiences and I just looked at the TK Site. They have a helluva lot of other Tissots which I am sure you noticed. Lots of deals there.

£199 for a quartz. LOL no thanks. better off getting one of the Tissot Automatics for a bit more or a Seiko Quartz for less.

That's a good collection! I note you recommended cheap Seiko's as an option for a cheap Quartz! Interesting! Very Interesting.....
Rrp of £535 is a little ott. I picked up a v8 from Fraser hart for £225 a few months ago.

If you actually owned the Sub and the Speedy, there would be no room in your life for the other 3.

I have 2 Omegas and a Rolex, and wear one of the three 365 days a year.

This one is made of stainless steel? Surely titanium is only referring to the colour?
Adding instant style to your look, this watch flaunts a stainless steel construction with a link fastening. Featuring a white face with minimal indices, three sub dials and signature branding.

Regardless of what it’s made of, my original point still stands regarding the RRP. Not saying that £200 isn’t good (as it is) but £565 rrp for a watch that’s readily available on Amazon for £225 just proves my point that the RRP is inflated. Just like everything at TK Tack.

Your totally wrong! Readily available? It’s being sold for more than my listing by a 3rd party market place seller!
This watch is from 2012
Your clueless if you think that £500 for a full titanium Tissot watch is too much!
The RRP isn’t anything to do with Tkmaxx that’s the manufacturer
Think you need some education

Your assumption that the RRP is inflated is based on the lowest available retail? The fact that this is a Titanium cased Tissot ETA Quartz with a Titanium strap is your starting point for determining the validity of an RRP. Then you need to consider that the watch is a 2012 model widely marketed and we assume selling at a great deal more than £225. Just because two retailers have the watch discounted heavily, it does not follow that the RRP is inflated.

You said, "But if accurate time is the main goal, then your phone has it. " How on earth did you work this out this untruth?

In the wrist watch versus pocket watch war, when to tell the time accurately is the main goal, the wrist watch had won hands down.

People use a wristwatch because of convenience to tell the time as the main goal over a pocket watch (phone is in your bag or pocket).

Lots of bold text there, is that really necessary? You missed the main thrust of the discussion above, which was comparing quartz and automatic movements. I was giving a reason why people might prefer automatic movements, even if they aren't as accurate.
