Used this to drill a hole big enough for a fan extractor (shower room but would be the same for a cooker hood extractor)
Took a while mind you through a 100 year old terraced house wall !
Can these cut through tiles ok too? Need to put an extractor fan in kitchen but have a layer of tiles over the wall. Also do you need an SDS drill for these

Don't think they will do the tiles and yes these are normally sds.

Says it has a 3 jaw adaptor - I'd assume its a hex end for a standard chuck, as well as a sds+ one. In fact the pictures show it being used in a drill with a jacobs chuck.

SDS would be better, as would a drill with a safety clutch in case of binding. I doubt they will cut through tiles.

Got one. Good value. Had mine and drilled about 30 holes (flues mainly..). Good set - i'll buy another.

Thanks op
3 x diamond core drills (38, 52 and 117mm), 200mm extension bar, 115mm SDS adaptor, 90mm 3-jaw adaptor, (8 x 205mm) pilot drill and 75mm drift key.
When in holy hell, would I need to core diamonds? Especially that big?!

Use the tile drill bit first. Then make the hole bigger with bigger drill bit. Then use the guide bit attached to this core bit to make the hole for extractor fan. You need spray abit of water while you drill through because this will make a lot difference than dry drilling. I made a same mistake when I tile my wall but now it looks perfect. You do need a SDS drill for this.

SDS with clutch but NOT on hammer. The arbors are soft and burr over when hammered. Then you'll need a new drill.
will easily cut thru tile. just send a pilot hole through first big enough to take the guide drill that goes through with the core bit. then slowly cut through with the guide bit and core bit.... NEVER use hammer action, and let the drill do the work..
BE CAREFUL, safety clutch SHOULD be used, IF cutter jams, the force from the drill can break your wrist!!!
I hired a proper drill, to use with these, well worth it...
(and yes, core bit did jam, stopped dead when I hit a steel wall tie...the hired drill saved broken bones..)
