Dont know why the last post was removed. Why spam ?? Any way a really good deal and about to buy but cant decide if i need it. Another tenner for oil and mixing bottle which you do need. If you order and change your mind you get 30 days to take it back for a full refund, so cannot go wrong really.

Bought today. Looking forward to tackling the wife"s bush. Thanks OP.

I bought one this morning before the original post was removed....why was it taken off??????

Yes , why. Just bought this after trying to decide if i needed it. The answer is yes. It will make the gardening jobs so much easier so decided to go for it before the price goes up.Also if i change my mind i can return it. Win Win i recon.

Need to replace my electric hedge trimmer and was looking at the non-pole titan trimmer for 89.99.

I normally cut a connifer hedge using a platform, moving it along as I go. Is this likely to give me just as good control considering the trimmer is on the end of a pole? Any advantages/disadvantages over using a standard hedge trimmer (non-pole)?

This is quite easy to use at full stretch as the weight is distributed quite well. I have a Yew tree about 12ft high and can "shape" that reasonably easily, just need a bit of practice first.

You can cut weeds like nettle and bramble at ground level. Very useful, I find. Not so good with grass.

Re: conifer hedge. If this is thicker than the depth of the blades (probably), you'll need to tackle it from both sides if you want to cut the top and you want to work from ground level. Also you will be working blind if the top of the hedge is higher than about six feet.

great deal was looking on ebay for one...fed up of lending my friends to do my mums hedges..his is long reach also..and with the hedges over 4ft wide on top these are great,,,i needed a strimmer too...so absolute bargain and its mine....lol...no more borrowing...great price...could do with a chainsaw atatchment but can,t find one...any ideas?

can anyone recommend an electric one like this? basically exactly like this but electric?

only seem to be able to find hedge and grass strimmers seperately.

I've been looking for a cheap strimmer for ages and this fits the bill. Does anyone know whether or not you can fit a brush cutting blade to this model?

Maybe I can get a decent hedge cutter for £40 and that leaves £20 for a grass cutter (barely 2m x 2m) - this way at least I have two items which can be used simultaneously???

did you know you could have chose free next day delivery?

don't know why they removed the last post , anyway here is what I posted last time

I buy these that have been returned to screwfix and repair them , they have HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of these returned ,I suspect this big price drop is to clear all remaining stock due to so many being returned , this is a crazy price that is for sure a loss leader (they was £119 a few months ago)

2 very common faults to be aware of if you buy one

1. don't stand it upright or lean it up against a wall when not in use , its been badly designed with the fuel primer bubble on the end so when you stand it upright (like most would when not in use) you perish away the fuel primer over time

2. they have a factory fault , whoever makes the fuel tanks either at the factory or before being fitted at the factory (in china) they drill or cut out the fuel tank opening (the bit you put the fuel in) but they then don't bother to wash out the fuel tank , tiny particles of the plastic are left in the tank from the drilling/cutting so when first use it will be fine for a matter of days/weeks/months until those small particles slowing work their way into the carburetion , it will then fail to start and likely never run again unless repaired

so , don't stand upright and thoroughly wash out the fuel tank before first using it ,

RE the mixing bottle I recommend you buy stihl one shot oil , and add that to a full 4.5l plastic petrol can , no mixing bottle required plus stihl is the best oil to use

Evil homer, you seem to know about these.
Will Ryobi Expand it attachments fit this?

Managed to collect one yesterday, can now get my Still back from work. Amazing price.
