Is that in stores? As in a bit of nationwide pot luck? My local Aldi is pretty small never seems to have the good clearance

At small town Bury, two Aldi and one "hold" saw for me at 49.90, of course last one. Another Aldi in Middleton have compressor for 49.9 now, but I think next week is 39.9 or gone
I was looking at the Lidl version which is £69 and this is much more solid and better put together. I was going to pick one up on eBay but for one with all the guards and bits it's not far off this price. Bought one. Cheers

Thanks OP, I had my eye on this so have jumped in. To note, this is a newer version of the same saw that Screwfix sold until a few months back so i'm surprised it has been reduced. I believe this one is a bit more solid and the fence is a bit more stable. After my work discount too, it cost £78 so a great price if its decent. The Prices of the reduced Aldi / Lidl options looks appealing, as do second hand prices on ebay, but for the service/warranty from Screwfix plus not having to "chase wild geese" for a discounted one, this is a very good deal.

Let me know how you get on with it, I've not opened mine yet I haven't had time to build it but reviews for the older models do complain about the fence so would be good to know what that's like! Still seems hard to go wrong for the money

Agreed. Only thing that I've just noticed that has slightly put me off is that it won't accept a dado blade according to the Screwfix rep answering questions on the site. Might not be a biggie for everyone but would be nice to have it included.

You won't find many if any table saws in the UK that will accept a dado stack as they don't conform to standards. Multiple cuts or a router table for the same shapes.

I have a similar Scheppach HS105 with the cast aluminium top. The biggest issue I find with these "portable" saws, is the lack of weight makes them more prone to vibration which can affect cut quality as the blade wobbles a little bit as it hangs off the bottom of the table top. Securely bolted down, they work much better, but does hinder the portability. This is a great price if the top is a solid piece and not pressed steel sheet.

Didn't know that, thanks for advising.
