Taken from the site :-

'Shoot all the Bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a Mockingbird.' A lawyer's advice to his children as he defends the real mockingbird of Harper Lee's classic novel - a black man charged with the rape of a white girl. Through the young eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, Harper Lee explores with exuberant humour the irrationality of adult attitudes to race and class in the Deep South of the thirties. The conscience of a town steeped in prejudice, violence and hypocrisy is pricked by the stamina of one man's struggle for justice. But the weight of history will only tolerate so much...

You could, of course, read both! :whistling:

To be honest I'm just pleased to see a book deal on here that hasn't been 'written' by Jordan or Kerry Katona.

why is this being voted hot? This is a normal price...
HotDeals, not HotProducts, no?

If you sling it through price comparison sites this is about the best, but like several people here I find it hard to believe that places like The Works or some of the independant bookstores/chains won't have this cheaper....

yep definitely read both, if you haven't already

I read this for my GCSE's. Good book, and written by someone who's not a celebrity!

Terrible times... Nelle Harper Lee is a celebrity in her own way... (I have a feeling this post'er has read either Kerry Katona or Jordan's recently released trashy fiction books).

Nelle Harper Lee is an American novelist known for her Pulitzer Prize–winning 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird, her only major work to date. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom of United States for her contributions to literature in 2007.

I reading this now for my GCSE's lol

I went to Waterstones few months ago to get a travel book on the country Jordan, but the shop assistant thought I meant a book by the woman with big you know whats!!!

I am reading this now for my GCSE's lol

You're all wrong!! There's also a redundant apostrophe there!! Tsk tsk...
:P

Ooh and edited to add: amazing book..don't think about it, just buy it!! Although, if you don't care about the condition of the book, second hand on Amazon is cheaper:

amazon.co.uk/Kil…8-6

I think he is also reading 'Jordan' for his GCSE's ...innit:w00t:

Excellent book for sure, but excellent deal? Maybe not, you could probably find it in a charity shop somewhere for pennies, borrow from your local library. Or like many take a life long loan of the book from school. I dont understand many of the so called 'Hot Deals' that get posted just for being the standard price...

Not exactly "hot" and Im sure Ive seen it cheaper in ASDA

This book is an absolute con. I paid good money for mine and read it cover to cover, and not once does it tell you how to kill a mockingbird. When I asked for my money back at the book shop the guy behind the counter was obviously shocked too, as he stood there with his mouth wide open for a whole two minutes, shaking his head.

Lol.. :d

I read this book recently and thought it was excellent. I picked it up for 10p at a charity shop.

Hmm....I saw this is Fopp for £3. But then Fopp only have about 5 stores nationwide.

Read this at school... Brilliant... Even better than the film and that was ace as well. Maybe you can get it for less but £4 is £4 well spent in this case!

Yeah the works might have it, plus they have just gone bust, so you'll get it in the closing down sale!
