The last few times we have been the quality of the food has been really bad, and the service we encountered after payment was down right rude,

Our local Toby has started cutting the meat wafer thin. Really poor portions. We suspect this is to encourage customers to upgrade to the large plate "for only £1.50 extra". It has encouraged us to go to the Marstons nearby. Much nicer and priced around the same as Toby.

I do prefer crown carveries as i prefer all the extras (chips, baked beans, mushy peas, curry sauce) And its just £4.29.

Better than feeding the kids pizza and McDonalds I suppose.

Our last one in Brentwood 4 of us had beef well!!! You could not cut it chew it all had to spit out discusting I no but they then bought us a plate of turkey all she said was it's the cut of meat sometimes it happens !!! Bad day at the Toby

I prefer harvester loughborough both owned by same company ! The harvester loughborough has lovely food and gorgeous waitresses in tight jeans

they train their chef not to cook but to master the art of cutting the meat into wafer thin slices, so thin that you could practically see through it but yet still stay as a slice, just.

then not to look embarrassed when serving this to the customer. we upgraded to large but the meat is still wafer thin, you just get more slices!

I love the Toby car very - can't believe everyone's comments are so negative - good spot
Although to be honest with all those roasties I'm not sure I could fit any other course in!!!

Shouldn't this be in 'Vouchers'?

food good quality

They used to be pretty good but really gone downhill

some plank with a spreadsheet has got involved recently and slashed the quality of the meat. In particular the beef, which on our last 2 visits in last 5 months were inedible, potatoes looked and tasted old, as did the mash, gravy was watered down and some veg was rock hard - so bad we received refunds. I wont be going back until they improve the quality alot

nope they have got cheap cuts of beef in - some idiot on a cost cutting exercise. Well, you wont have a business if you reduce quality that much. id rather they kept the quality and increased the price by a few pence

I always struggled to eat a main meal let alone 2 or 3 courses at toby

Is Toby's main meal healthy?
