had this today & have now realised Im a complete lightweight when it … had this today & have now realised Im a complete lightweight when it comes to binge eating - I struggled to finish one plate but there were other people having a least 2 plates piled high with food - I honestly dont know how they can do it as I started feeling sick after one plateful mainly I think due to the greasiness of the food which Im not used toothe toby I went to in Stevenage was quite 'chavvy' IMO - for example there were quite a few workmen in really dirty work clothes (this was at 10am too during work hours) - also not sure about the food hygeine as the bar where all the food was had quite a bit of food scattered around outside the holding dishes which didnt give me much confidence

It is a carvery, it depends on the judgement of the person carving, people don't all get the same amount, maybe they give too little sometimes instead of just the right amount?



Asking for your money back because you are not happy with a service is completely different.

Asking for more than what you paid for when everyone around you get's the same deal is rude toward all the other paying customers, its as simple as that.

Now if you think you didn't get the same as everyone else like you said, then that's different again... of course it's not rude in that case!

It's all common sense. It worries me sometimes that this stuff isn't obvious to some...

Have to say... we have have a "farmhouse Inn" near us which is a nationwide company - they're cheaper and you get more food plus their standard plate holds more than Toby's so it's more like an large to start with

It still works out cheaper to go Beefeater if you have kids as they eat for free, £8.99 each adult saves 50p-ish per head (Toby charge the same price for kids). Come with the same sort of stuff included (standard brekky stuff, continental,juices, tea, coffee etc).

​Same in Basildon at Festival Leisure Park too this morning, said they turned down lots of the same voucher last week as it wasn't their company giving them out but was the old Black Friday one with a different expiry date, computer wouldn't accept either QR code or number. Didn't argue for the actual small saving.

To be honest i think the Hampton Toby is one of the worst i have ever been in. Friendly staff , but quality not up to much.

We went last night the 33% finished but they gave us 20% off and a free pud :-)
