Cheapest I've seen it from a UK seller. £2600 is possible from grey import with 3 year warranty, £2200-2400 with 1 year warranty, but this is a UK seller with UK warranty so always costs more.

OUR VERDICT
Sony have truly set the bar with the new Sony A7R IV. With an incredible 61MP full frame sensor, able to deliver medium format level quality with 15 stops of dynamic range, this camera can produce some seriously impressive images.
Speed has been a big consideration with this camera as well with a 10fps continuous shooting mode. That’s with continuous autofocus and tracking as well.
In fact, the latest autofocus technology is in place with real time Eye AF and tracking for stills and movies. Operability has been improved as well with a 5.76 million dot viewfinder, an improved grip and upgraded dust and moisture resistance.

Who sold it for £3k, I never saw it on hukd and I can't see it on any price comparison sites. Was it a trade in price, as Sony are still offering a £350 trade in bonus but needs to be a full frame camera.
I thought cotswold cameras was selling for £3k but that turned out to be a grey import.
Camera world sends our voucher codes if you sign up for their Black Friday offers/ newsletters. I didn’t post it as whenever I post cameras here over £1000 it doesn’t go down well with the majority

Same with TVs, one of my C9 deals went to -50, then another went to 300+ at almost the same price, depends on the day. The cheaper LCD TV's around £500 Heat up quickly and the Sony A7ii /A7iii does well sometimes as the budget full frame camera. I'll take a look at camera world maybe they'll email me something good.
How much better is this to the R III?

That's grey market import for £2349, As per the description, grey market with 1 year warranty is available in the £2200 to £2400 range. If you go to pamaoz they offer 3 year warranty for £2600.
Ergonomics are much better as is the autofocus. Plus resolution is higher. Low light capabilities a bit worse
I'd have hoped for a larger % discount to be honest

From what I know it brings the auto focus up to around A7iii quality, so not as good as A9 but it works better for birds in flight compared to a7r3. A7r3 has better iso noise at higher iso, but similar at normal usage levels. The a7r4 has a 61mp sensor so it's crop mode delivers about 26mp if I recall which is usually what you'll crop too if doing wildlife. Note at 61mp, camera shake can be an issue and it can exceed the lens resolution for some lens.

There are loads of comparisons if you look online. google.com/sea…iii

If you only do landscape the a7r3 will be more than enough, to be honest the a7r2 will likely be fine too and alot cheaper.

It's not just a new sensor in the mark 4,it has been rebuilt. See petapixel.com/201…ay/

Wouldn't we all but the camera is only 6 months old. I guess it's replacement is still 1-2 years away.

I thought this was a deals site rather than a popularity contest
61mpx.... need to add another 10k for a high end desktop to process such high res pictures in LR. My D810 is already an issue processing.

61mpx, if you print a lot or do a lot of cropping great, otherwise overkill to view on an iPad.

I remember my D70 when I started with 6mpx. That was something.

I'm ok. My 3 year old pc has a 8 core (+ 8 logical) and pcie based SSD so it files by but the wifes laptop will struggle.

It’s not just the drive speeds. Also the processor power required. For instance DXO processing (I use it for high iso noise reduction. DXO does a fantastic job on things along with some handy filters.). That programme takes a lot of processing powers and larger the raw the more processing it takes. I have a73 the raw is 44MB. I am thinking of upgrading my PC to a ryzen system as I only got 4 cores and 8threads...tho a lot of ram

Current trade in bonus isn't as generous they required full frame or medium format. 2 years ago any SLR was a valid option.
