Yeah, I ordered two medium tops from the same line. Basically, the same tops, just different colours. One was skin tight, so more like a small, but the other one... More like an extra large! Quite how you can get the sizing so different on two identical-style tops is beyond me. General quality was also poor. Had ordered some stuff from TL before, but I won't be again after that. Cheap for a reason.

Any of you chaps got any advice on retailers that avoid this? I’ve just had two pairs of 32” waist M&S trousers arrive in the same size and while one pair was a good fit, I don’t think the other pair would have fit me when I was 16...
Quality are rubbish, even Primark are better quality

Only by going in to the shop and trying clothes on, unfortunately. I've been wearing 32" waist trousers for 20+ years. They're usually slightly too big so I always need a belt. One pair I bought online is around 3-4 inches too big around my waist. Not long ago, I decided to actually measure my waist, and it turned out to be 34", not 32". So that particular pair of jeans actually had a waist of around 37-38 inches. That's a whole 5-6 inches bigger than the advertised size. Shocking. But I tried on a pair of 32" jeans in TK Maxx once and they were even bigger again. Unbelievable!

And don't get me started on "anti-fit"
HUKD uniform
Ordered 3 tops for my fella. Thanks OP 😄
Are they trying to compete with Superdry?
Ordered three jumpers. Voted hot! Really worth the price! Thanks op!
Nice!! Just brought me some gym stuff!

Nope, it really is luck of the draw.

There are the general reason why sizing is different such as
- No general rule on sizing, if your waist measures 32" you could be a small in one brand and medium in another.
- Same size but different style, one style could be more fomal and the other relaxed so they fit differently
- Different fabric used, some fabric have more give to them so seem to fit better
- Different colours, different dyes used which effects the material (some dyes make the clothes more firm so they dont stretch as much)
- Items from the same shop are made in different factories (even countries), therefore different guidelines on sizing so even the same size in the same shop would be different fitting wise

The only way you can combat this is to ensure the same person makes your clothes

Good tip if you cant be bothered trying on trousers, try the neck trick (Place the waistline of the jeans/trousers around your neck. If the waistline comfortably meets at the back of your neck, then they should fit.)

It's called vanity sizing - you're a 34 waist but they advertise as a 32 to make you feel slimmer.

That's why different brands won't fit the same - you might have to normally buy a 32 in most brands but a 30 or 34 in others. I say normally, because as already pointed out, even the same brand can be way off sometimes!

If only they were actual real measurements, and did odd numbers too, it'd be easier to find good fits everywhere.

Oh, and what's anti-fit?

Is this stuiff good quality, comparable with superdry?

Placed an order but now have read trustpilot and starting to think you were being sarcastic?
Shocking quality in my experience, I'll never order from these again personally. Each to their own though. Not voted either way.
Absolute rubbish quality and there is no customer service so if anything goes wrong your money in the bin

Yep, they're a poor man's superdry. Crap fit and average quality.
Terrible fit.
Terrible quality.

Better of going to primark, as Tokyo laundry seem to make their clothes out of paper. Oh, and if anything goes wrong... I wish you the best of luck with their customer service team.

I was refunded the wrong amount 3 times when I tried for a refund, refunded less than half my order total before complaining. Took several emails just to get another refund, which only just totalled over half. 3rd refund finally sorted it.

Avoid at all costs imo.
Forgot to say thanks for the link. Ordered for that nice chinos and many more. They actually have stuff that are not walking advert
WELCOMETOKYO gives 20% off first order
Better quality available at Primark
Seriously what is actually Japanese or "Tokyo" about this stuff? Branding and marketing is just comical and shallow these days. Not voting hot or cold on this btw - more just a random musing. If this was called "Bangor Laundry" and everything regarding this company and its products were identical, nobody would buy their product Humans are such weird creatures
Omar1980uk07/01/2020 08:40

Are they trying to compete with Superdry?

I read superdry took them to court for copying their style and misleading customers into thinking it's the same brand
Well, we bought £50 worth of hoodies & jumpers. Received our package today.

Yes, having experience Tokyo before we bought one size up. They all fit perfectly & the quality is excellent. They are not thick material, they are lightweight but far better quality than Primark as someone stated before. These would be double the money in M&S.
