How long does this take to get in to? I played it on the free weekend and found it very bland looking with super unresponsive controls and it just wasn't a whole lot of fun... I have friend who rave about it though... Does it take a while and then just 'click'?

personally I can't get into it, I prefer the older games from the series. I get what you mean though like my friends go mad over it. I suppose you'll just have to play it and see if you can get into it

This game heavily relies on you having a group or squad of a few mates at the bare minimum. If you lone wolf it, you'll hate it.

It's very slow and tactical and team play is crucial. I personally love it, and games like call of duty and battlefield just feel unrealistic and utter madness after I've been used to confined spaces.

Haven't been keeping myself up to date on this game so just a little confused with the season pass stuff for this game, when buying this standard game do we really get most of the stuff from the season pass for free by using the in game currency to buy them while the season pass only gives a week early access to them? Is that for both the year 1 and 2 season passes? Or is it required to buy the complete edition to get the whole package?

just turn up the sensitivity etc... I play most console games sensitivity maxed and i dont have Siege at maximum.

If you are willing to learn the game abit and you are take a kicking and learn from it occasionally, its fun. You should pick the basics up within a few hours

yeah you are right, season pass = 1 week early access to the new operators, everyone else can unlock them after that and 2 extra challanges (these are pointless). They may be adding to the season pass in 2017 with timed skins aswell , but nothing you cant wait for tbh.

Disagree with this, I play lone wolf quite a lot and still have bags of fun, I would recommend sticking to casual solo though, if you try ranked you will probably want to be with a squad that talks or friends if possible.

I personally love this game. I have been playing it since the Beta version. It has a very steep learning curve that you need to get past to get the most out of the game. As mentioned in a previous post, you will enjoy this more with a squad of friends.
I briefly went to playing Battlefield 1 but found it too easy and not as challenging in multiplayer. I returned to R6 and struggled all over again as I had gotten use to running and gunning.
R6, in my opinion is almost a masterpiece. Once you truly get your teeth into it (and get a group of friends playing) you will keep returning for more.

Even as an experienced player I find I'm learning something new every day that I play. I would suggest sticking with it and be prepared to die, lots!
When you get the the stage where you are killing one person before you die, you are doing well.
If I had to give you a quick tip, I would suggest watching a few videos and understand each operator's role and how other use them. Don't rush in (not yet) take your time, let the other players make the mistakes.
Hope this helps a little.

I have played many first person shooters over a long period of time and my favourite had always been counter strike.

I first played CS way back in version 1.3 and IMHO no FPS game I have played since had come near it.

Until Rainbow Six Siege...

It is as good as 1.3 in my opinion and I am totally hooked. You are constantly learning and improving, all the content within the game that you need is free and there will be at least two years of support....

You can play casual or ranked I am currently gold rank 2 and holding on to that by the skin of my teeth ha ha... I play ranked matches both solo and with friends.

There is also a terrorist hunt scenario, you face bots within the game which you can either play lone wolf for with other players.

I think it's an absolute bargain at £15.99.

Everything in this post is the truth. I grew up with CS as my favourite game, playing it at LAN parties. This game has totally shown me that there is such thing as tactical FPS gaming and quickly took over CS as my fav. I have had this game from even before it came out because I was in the closed beta in which I was given a free copy but if I paid a good £40 for it when it first dropped I still would have minded because it's worth every penny.
