Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege invites players to master the art of destruction. Intense close quarters confrontations, high lethality, tactics, team play, and explosive action are at the center of the experience. The gameplay sets a new bar for intense firefights and expert strategy in the rich legacy of past Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six games.

Is this worth getting on Xbox? Or should I just drop the extra amount and get the PC version, or are the experiences similar enough to get the former?

A little bit, not really worth playing though.

Not too sure if you can buy the Y1/Y2 pass anymore on its own only as part of the gold edition or complete. If so most likely better off buying year 3 pass as you get 10% renown discount and then use any renown accumulated to buy the Y1/Y2 operators for 22.5k renown rather than 25k, be aware you get between 100 and 300 for a casual match, in my experience.

You also get 600 siege points with the Y3 pass which is enough to buy one character, I would recommend Mira/Ela/dokkaebi/caveira, hibana as good choices.

Also some of the base operators are the best, ash, mute, etc. So definitely pick up those first.

This is basically a multi player game that is so fun you don't need any other game to entertain you. I have been playing this since an year now and literally nothing else.
Can't. Stop. Playing....
Is this better then call of duty world war 2? Or is it pointless getting it as I have codww2

You can't compare the two, totally different games.. could be argued different genres.

In a broad sense though, yes it is better than WW2, but if you want a game like CoD then this may disappoint.
Nooooooo paid £15 for this on the Xbox store last night. Annoying.
Do I need to get the dlc or season pass? Or is this ready to go online?

Only if you want instant access to the DLC operators, you can buy them with in game currency however it will take quite awhile.

Many people I see come to Siege from the likes of CoD and Battlefield and end up getting destroyed over and over on Siege and give up.

This is a game about planning, patience and teamwork. I would strongly recommend atleast one friend minimum to play this game, or you'll end up pretty frustrated.

I have CoD WW2 and enjoy it from time to time, but once you really put some time into Siege and understand it all, you can't get the same feeling anywhere else.

It is teamwork at its finest, and for this price it's worth atleast giving it a chance among your friends to see what enjoyment you can get out of such simple core gameplay mechanics.

I am a fanboy, I own the digital version on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, I have pockets of friends from all over on all the different platforms, but I don't care what I'm playing on, as long as I have a team on comms.

I think I might do better at siege, cod for me is to much running in kill a few people and then get killed then respawn. I would rather have patience and a more tactical element.

Yes, you will need Xbox Live Gold to play any xbox game online and this is no exception.
Get it on PC then you don't have to buy the membership unless you already have one.

You will die. You will die alot. But don't let it get to you. This game requires map knowledge, knowing spawns and likely entry points, sight lines, etc. And then add Operator knowledge ontop of that. Gun handling, gadgets, etc. Its a hell of alot to take in, but Im around 500 hours in, and its just so bloody satisfying.
can you play split screen local co-op?
Found this really tough to begin with... and so did my 'crashing in like a sledge hammer' friend... but we've learned to love it, thru a lot of death. Well worth it at this price.

PC experience far superior. There's a free HD texture pack, and of course it's a shooter so should be played on mouse and keyboard anyway.

Agreed. I've bought several other games, but haven't even played them. Keep playing siege!
It's only for xbox
It's a steep and brutal learning curve, but a great game!

If you like it or can afford to, try and get the complete edition which has year 1 and 2 operators and passes as It really helps to have the flexibility and choice of the other operators as the games been established for a while now.

Year 3 is just about to launch so you might be able to get the complete edition at a good reduced price. (I did thanks to the xbox brazil deal that was posted on here a couple of weeks back.)

I prefer it on pc. Better graphics and in my experience better team play .

still a great game on any format
34 hours on average to get a single character though guys unless you fork out money.

Dont buy unless you put in the hours and expect to enjoy many characters.
It's a good game, the season 2 pass is on the Xbox store.
Can you still get the year 2 pass for this ?
Love this game 😁 Takes a little while to learn the operators and how to be tactical with them, so give it a chance.

This is a decent game, but nothing compares to Socom on the ps2/3 for great team based shooter.

I really miss the Socom games. But I would put them in different genres almost. This is a shooter, but not in the traditional sense. I'd say Socom was in the more traditional FPS genre with cod and battlefield. Open maps with large open areas. Siege feels different. It's got an almost strategy element to it, and a hint of moba. Lots of focus on operator abilities and how different ops benefit from each other, ie Thatcher + Thermite, or Echo + Caveira.

But yes id love to see another Socom on current gen. I think they were releasing something called H-Hour Worlds Elite or something like that? Im not sure if it's dead or still bubbling away in alpha/beta.
I have seen the season 2 pass gold version on the Xbox marketplace for 27.50. Is it worth paying for the extra operators?

Yes, i think you can play H-hour on the pc, never made it to the PS4. Great tactical, team based shooter though.
