Was looking at other deal for European Maps for £16 and got email saying speed camera update due for renewal. Usually costs £14.99 but if you use same voucher code as used for last year's renewal, Welcome123b, takes £8 off bringing price down to £6.99. Not as good as last year's £1.99 offer but close.
Don't forget, go through quidco and get 8% off ; actually only another 46p off .... forgotten to mention.

Thanks. Was looking for a code myself

Good price and Heat added

However why would one need to have this item?

Prefer the speed camera database from pocketgpsworld, as weekly updates. And if you submit a new sighting, get the downloads for free

Is this done through TomTom Home, and is the code entered after you confirm order at £14.99?

Do not want to end up paying £14.99.

please be aware that it is now illegal to use a device to warn you of speed cameras in France, and Im told they are very keen on stopping the UK reg cars to check.

True but TomTom have removed them and replaced them with safety areas for France and this is legal - I'm sure there will be a reference to this on the TomTom site if anyone is worried.

Thanks, went for it and Quidco - shame its not 1.99!

Great deal but I get mine free. So many different sites offering POI speed camera files for TOMTOM nowadays

Great if you can get a free subscription (Free LIFETIME Subscription when you report just one eligible camera location)

otherwise a 12 month subscription costs just £19.99 bad advice for a money saving site mate........

Can i pay now and download update later when i get back home?

i will give quidco 50-50 success because of their t&c in tomtom cashback

Members should only use voucher codes listed on Quidco. If you use voucher codes or gift vouchers that are not listed on Quidco your cashback may not track or be declined.

pocketworld gps database is for both fixed cameras and mobile cameras,as well as temp/ specs (average speed between 2 cameras) and red light cameras, may even have have accident black spots on too
AFAIK the tom tom on is for fixed only, unless you purchase the premium one at £34.99
so not so bad advice as pwgps is only £19.99
regardless of price if it saves lives, a £60 fine and points on your license its worth it IMHO

cheers for that worked a treat

Cameras are a seperate add on. Maps do not usually include camera warnings unless the person prior to yourself paid for this service.
That said since I bought my TomTom GO910 many years ago the camera warnings have always functioned OF course they are a little out of date, sometimes giving a warning when they are no longer there (like roadworks for ex.) and sometimes missing the odd camera (rare... and I travel a lot for a living).

Stay within the speed limit/drive appropriately for the road/weather conditions.

your comment is only valid if you don't do all of the above or regularly drive too fast...

No offence but you seem to be an inexperienced driver.... is it better to watch the road outside a school or worry about going 2/3 mph aboev the speed limit? When overtaking you may be forced to exceed the speed limit for a brief duration..much better to overtake quickly and spend a smaller amount of time on the opposite carriageway... mostly 'speeding' (excluding extreme speed) is not an issue - however excessive speed for the conditions can be a big probelm as you say.... bad driving is the key issue - too close to car in front - not concentrating - not reading the road - not accounting for full/overflowing pavements etc etc

Possibly I am inexperienced, and all your comments are valid depending on location of what you're doing (this time) however I drive as part of my job: 119k on an 09 plate so far.

BUT.... 2-3 mph on a motorway isn't going to get you knicked, 2-3 mph near a school in a 20/30 might.

I agree that increasing speed to overtake can make things safer but that doesn't mean you have to keep knocking it out above the speed limit and my experience on a bike with the Police on overtaking is just that, they expect you to without prejudice.

Please don't take offence but you seem to me to be an immature driver

take care and don't cause an accident, I won't be replying again to this thread as we've moved well away from the intended offer of a saving from the OP

I am not sure why you think I am an immature driver from my comments; maybe you just took offence at my comment?.

Your perfectly entitled to your opinion.

I like mention the positive side to speed detection devices. Our comments are useful I would hope to some people as they represent two sides of the argument surrounding the deal in question i.e a speed detection device.

I guess many of us are just not perfect drivers and so find them a useful road safety aid.... if one is a perfect driver then I guess there of no benefit.

each to their own...

fyi re "take care and don't cause an accident," no need to be patronising - it doesn't do you any favours.... Suprising as you may find it I do take allot of care when driving....or indeed cycling ..walking etc in fact anywhere there are large moving objects....
