NOTE - Whilst the game is priced at 85 Lira on the Turkish Store (approx £2.55), you will not be able to use the FUPS / OluBil method to buy the game until 4th February 2024 at the earliest as they are pre-paid cards, i.e. you cannot pre-order from the Xbox store using these cards unless the game is within 10 days of release. There is no guarantee this method will still work next week, never mind next year. The game is £24.99 to order on the UK Xbox Store.

There is a work around for this, if you buy something along side the pre-order it will go through an charge you 10days before release, if you don't have enough in your account it will place the pre-order on hold and allow you to update the payment method or retry the card.

I've used this for Moving Out 2, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty and just now with Tomb Raider along side other stuff I wanted in sales.

what’s with the “starring Lara Croft” bit? Doesn’t anyone who buys this already know that?
    wizowes's avatar
Because it was featured in the title for the first 3 games. They dropped it in the later games.

    Who's pre-ordering digital only games??

    Presumably those who:
-know they want it Day 1
-want to secure it at a price which is lower than it would be buying on Day 1

I would like it tbh but only from the Turkish Xbox store
If it was a proper remaster kinda thing (ie dead space , resident evil etc) I would jump all over it

if you enjoy the original games, then its still a great improvement on them, i found that Anniversary, amongst later TR games, lost many elements of the original gameplay and was all about jumping, shooting, and more jumping, and shooting instead of exploration, secrets to find, atmosphere, puzzle solving and wondering about whats around the corner....

I literally thought this meant Iceland the frozen food store at first

So for Tomb Raider 1 is it going to be a remaster of a remake (TR Anniversary)

Looks like remaster of the original

Cool, now 1996-1998 games look like 1999-2001 games. I've been wanting this all my life

Faithful restoration is what they are going for. Wouldn’t be the same with modern controls + graphics.

Any word of a physical release?

not yet, keeping my fingers crossed though!

Core did start on a remake of the first game many years ago, I remember being very excited about it and you can find footage of it online.

Then Crystal Dynamics took over and made Anniversary instead, with a dramatic new look and quick time events etc. Was decent, but this is more along the lines of what I was hoping for.

I wish they do TR 4 the Last revelation .

I never got into that one, came at a bad time for me. Is it good?

I recognise that these are different games but I got the three TR games made between 2013-18 for a few quid on the Turkish store a while ago and it was remarkable to me how well they hold up. If anybody hasn't played those games, don't sleep on them. I had no interest in the franchise but I do like well made games. Found them to be very playable and occasionally impressive.

I particularly enjoyed 1 and 2. 3 was the weakest but still a decent game.
