Most PC games that were also released on consoles come with gamepad support so will play the same as if it was on a console. With Steam the gamepage will show a controller in white if its 100% playable with a gamepad and a half coloured controller if its got partial support (game can be played with the controller but needs a mouse and keyboard to change the settings first).

Its not perfect but Steam has Big Picture Mode that makes it useable with a controller and if you have two system (Main PC and second PC/laptop/Windows tablet) you can stream the games from the more powerful system to the other one. I've done that with a seven year old PC plugged into the TV with the big PC in the bedroom. I then get to play my PC games while sat on the couch without having to worry about the hardware underperforming.

Well the good news is that PC's realistically peaked years ago. Of course you'll still get games that need graphic cards more expensive than a car but I'm still using a graphics card I bought five years ago for about £120 brand new and I'm happily playing games in 1080p that look and run better than they do on my xbox360 and PS3.

whats it like in comparison to the one and 4? I may have to look into investing in a decent gaming PC, if I'm going to get one it will have to be a decent one! no point going half hearted!

You'll need to spend more to get better graphics, but games are cheaper and the graphics can go a lot higher.

It's a sliding scale, and you get what you pay for. But if you're thinking of getting a gaming PC on a low budget, don't bother. Keep saving.

Thank you for the advice! I will have to start looking next year

Bought £15 worth of stuff :-)

yet another dangerous sale!!

HOT!

Just built a gaming rig spent 600 but you get it back as games are way cheaper

As the page has mysteriously disappeared off of Hotukdeals without a trace, I'd like to say that I bought Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris from Gamersgate for £6.99 which was probably a misprice. However they have handled it in a pretty evil way. Without letting any of the customers know, they made this happen on Steam:

"A Steam Product code you activated has been removed from your account."

and when you go to the order page on the site it says 'Cancelled' however they haven't issued a refund. From the reaction on Twitter and Facebook seems like they've done this to everyone. So I'd consider not buying anything from them in the future if I were you.
