Don't bother. I had one thar was dangerously innacurate each time I used it. The Braun thermoscan is much more accurate and the same as the GP uses.
yes these are not very good unless they are older kids 9 plus

I agree, we had one if these and I was convinced my son had a high temp when he was 8months old this thermometer read as if his temp was normal but he felt like he was burning up. Took him to the doctors and temp was over 39degrees got sent to hospital. These are very unreliable, I also use Braun thermoscan now as that's what the hospitals use, much more accurate.
