After 3 months you have to buy the speed camera locations which is £20/year. If you plan on doing this you're better off buying the tomtom go 500 for £117 at currys which is an upgraded model with free speed cameras.

Good find. Thanks, OP. 1% Quidco, too.

I agree the 500 is a good buy but you only get the speed camera updates for 3 months with that one as well. I voted this one hit as it's good value.

But being honest, how often do speed cameras change? Up to my knowledge they don't detect average speed cameras too

These update regularly and speaking as a traffic officer the locations are pretty accurate, I have the go 50 and it's brilliant! Particularly when connected to your phone as it shows live traffic
I used the £8 off voucher for the speed cameras found in the voucher section

Most of the cameras on he motorway don't work but this knows the ones which do

I just bought TomTom Start 50 Full EU Maps from Amazon.it came to £101.11

TomTom and every similar company need to realise that unless they introduce something really cool that smartphones will not be able to do, they will soon be out of the market. I have "here" nav installed on my phone(turn by turn off line maps) and I'm very satisfied. Google will also introduce offline maps very soon so I wonder why should someone pay this money to TomTom?

Cold...

I shared TOMTOM 500 for £116 total and it was voted cold , anyway had a reply says get ( TOMTOM 510 ) from halfords for £169.99 but if you trade in your old tomtom from any brand they give 510 for £135 that's includes VAT .

Also this tomtom comes with free lifetime speed camera + World map update lifetime + Live traffic

exactly

I used to use tomtom all the time (still have a perfectly good 410), but now I just use HERE on my phone.

HERE on your phone saves lugging an extra device and lead around (or attracts thieves if left in your car), gives up to date mapping, speed cameras etc.....and is free whatever country you are in.If tomtom were charging something like £50 I might be interested, but at £90 its just not viable, when the likes of the above are totally free, as long as you have a smartphone, which most people have nowadays.

they good products. but i always have to go voa the settings to chanhe from shprt route, eco route or fast route.... wosh i could pick it from after entering the address details... my old oje lets me, but my new one wont

Yeah sure, it's awesome how it drains most of your battery, and how it kills your mobile data and also if your in Central London and your signal goes.

I use it all the time, it doesn't drain the battery, it is very fast, it's offline so no mobile data at all and only needs gps which I'm sure you can get in Central London

Yes, quite right, and it works fine in London...classic case of leading a horse to water here though
