I got an ex-display Tom Tom 25 from John Lewis for £28 .... £65 is a big price, considering that in car Sat Navs are dead now anyway.

Lifetime Traffic is good though!

Don't forget the world maps as well!

Indeed .... I've just seen that the Lifetime Traffic requires a Smartphone (which is different to the TomTom I had which didn't) - in that case you may as well use Google Maps for FREE!! As you need a smartphone attached anyway!

Makes it a non starter to my mind ..... but I'm not voting either way as someone may find it useful.

Link not working, its becoz of halfords. Or can u not check stock online?

Bearing in mind that each store is likely to have no more than 1 ex-display item of any one model, I sense this could be quite 'fun' to track down.

Got one of these around a year ago from cex. Links to Bluetooth on phone and traffic is far superior and more up to date than Google maps and Waze. Routing is better than them as well. Only niggle is cold boot times as it's around 1 and a half minutes but as I use it every day for the traffic it rarely shuts completely down and boot from sleep mode is 10-15 seconds.

Brilliant deal, just bought one. Cheapest on flea bay is £156 odd. Heat added

good price if local to you; These make circa this on ebay with no warranty.

I recently paid £72 for a refurb with 12 mths warranty from Argos.

Not voting either way but would just comment that from my experience the Live Traffic service is often unavailable and Tom Tom don't advise you when the system is down. It seems to fall over when there's heavy demand so it was famously unavailable for in excess of a week over an Easter holiday period - that's right, the very time when it would be most useful.

Heat and reserved one for pick up. I am on mobile but can't see what the guarantee is, on ex display?

Should be the standard 12 months.

Just buy second hand smartphone and use as sat nav, attach to magnetic holder, apply anti glare foiland install apps including Waze, Tomtom, google maps etc. Buy cheap sim card with data for traffic and off you go. Much quicker to load and use..

I have the model that doesn't require a sim card and the live traffic is great. I use it every day for my job. I travel to remote areas where it is sometimes not possible to use a smart phone so this can be a life saver. I still use Google maps when I want to compare traffic issues but the Tom Tom is a really good all rounder.

The model I have also alerts you to speed cameras, both fixed, mobile and average which can be very handy. It also tells you your average speed when going through a set of cameras, very handy for me as I have numerous routes that have them for over 100+ miles which is torture.

Thanks OP, reserved one at my local, here's hoping it's actually in stock!

Would these likely come unboxed?

Well I've just been rung they've got everything including box but can't find the mount, so ringing me back later.

I actually prefer dedicated sat navs. Google Maps is excellent and free but no camera alerts and also I tend to use it to play music, audiobooks etc during journeys.

This is a good deal.

Same here (almost) they have no mount or car charger. They have however given me a home charger with it for £50. Bargain! It was unboxed but with 12 months warranty.
I'm pretty sure my Tomtom go 40 uses the same mount..will check later on. Glad hotukdoers are getting them.

Yeah cheers for the post. Halfords are trying to source a mount direct from tom tom for me. I've said I'll have it at reduced price if they can't get one. They've agreed lol we'll see.

I went to pick one up and they told me that the guarantee is the same as a new one.
The only bad thing is you may not receive a box or any instructions.

Got two of them, one has a mount missing but knocked £10 off that one.

thanks op i collect from kingways store in derby no mount but it came boxed with instructions 12v usb adaptor and charging cable perfect :-) and they did it me for £45 and even recudced a tomtom easy reach windscreen mount from 25 to 18 which said it was for GO 51 model but just got home and it does not fit so will take that back tomorrow, anyone know where i could buy a mount from please?

No stock anywhere

The so called 'live traffic' uses your smartphone which also would mean no live traffic in remote areas.

Pleasure. I'll have to order the mount as well!

Got mine today, they couldn’t find the ex display one so I was given a brand new one instead

but the older models used a build-in sim card anyway; the only way to get traffic in areas of bad reception would be to use broadband wifi - kinda impratical....

No problem, glad to see it's all good. It the deal helped even one person I'm happy.

Bought mine today! Great for people with restrictive GB tariffs and people who want to use their phones whilst their partners drive!

Why do ppl still buy Sat Nav google maps does me fine when driving on long journeys plus updates me with more up to date traffic jams and sends me a quicker route

I've used my always trusty TT Go 540 Live UK every working day in different jobs for years (a refurbed official TT outlet deal on here)
Possibly my best buy. A real proper sat nav that made my job that good bit easier.
TT no longer offer maps for it. A big loss

I goes on holiday driving abroad thinking I should buy a sat nav but didn't cos I'll be okay to use Google Maps
What a bad idea that was.
Destination in the middle of a busy dual carriageway junctions going every which way
In no way a replacement for a proper sat nav
If you're not serious then Google maps etc might be okay
If you're serious then buy a proper sat nav

I got this TT Go 51.... thanks to OP

Now fully updated

A deal and I really like it

I do however find typing in the search bar problematic. It doesn't register some presses
I need to type slowly to allow it to catch up

On this TT I looked up where we stayed in Portugal.
It shows the street name
Google maps does not show the street name
