Fairly unusual to see TomTom accessories discounted by this margin so a good deal in my opinion. Although not mentioned on the TomTom website this is compatible with the Tom Tom Go (v3), the non-XL version.

Bits and pieces of stock available for collection in-store.

The TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver gets traffic information on the go, to your GO. For the one-off cost of the receiver you can get traffic updates and let your GO reroute you around congestion.By simply connecting the TomTom GO (510-710-910) device to the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver, you will automatically receive traffic information via the TMC connection. Once a journey is planned, traffic alerts, which relate to the route are clearly displayed in the traffic bar on the right hand side of the screen. When you tap the icon shown in the traffic bar, you will receive further information, such as the cause or kind of delay to traffic, such as an accident or traffic jam.

Thanks for this - can we reserve from one store with stock and have it redirected to another - S. Wales is quite a hike for me... as none in my local store.

Thanks to the OP.

Cheers

I'm pretty sure somebody else mentioned this on another Argos 'find the stock' thread and it was possible to have an item transferred to a local branch. You'll need to contact Customer services to get it sorted I think.

Dont waste your money on this, most people have found they dont recieve the signals hardly at all. Tom tom is releasing a new updated version in the near future.

No TMC in UK?Of course we can't finish this review without mentioning the … No TMC in UK?Of course we can't finish this review without mentioning the TMC system for retrieval of traffic information on the T-versions of the GO x20's. This feature has been a problem child for TomTom since day one. Up to now, TomTom has not been able to smoothly implement this feature. There was only one problem: for reviewing purposes, we received a GO 720T, as said, this is the unit with the TMC antenna included. However, several sources have mentioned to us that the T-version of the unit will NOT be available in the UK. We can only imagine this is because of the large amount of problems the previous TMC antenna has caused for TomTom.We asked TomTom for a reaction. This is how they responded:"We indeed do not ship the GO 720T in the UK at this time. It is hoped that in the future we will be able to, when we have RDS/TMC hardware that functions in that specific region, and lives up to our quality expectations. We do not have a timeline for this, and therefore cannot say when this will happen. We are sorry to be so vague about this, but at this moment it’s still uncertain whether we will ever ship a GO 720T in the UK."So there you have it: no TMC with the new x20 series in the UK. Of course, we DO have such a 720T at our disposal now. Should we test it or not? Of course we should! We went forward with the testing, and it didn’t take long before we found out that TomTom’s fear of releasing this piece of hardware with the unit was not unfounded.Because the TMC antenna that shipped with the unit is a new and improved version, we had high hopes. But unfortunately, all in vain. As it turned out, the main problem is still getting a connection with a radio station which broadcasts the TMC signal. A lot of times this fails. We've made many test drives during which no TMC information could be retrieved after many minutes of searching. A lot of times it failed to make a connection completely.Once you get a 'lock', everything does work as advertised. But a lot of times we had almost reached our destination before this lock was established. Or, even worse, we were already stuck in traffic by then. We don't believe this could be the intention of a € 50 accessory. So as it turns out, TomTom probably made the right choice by excluding the RDS/TMC antenna from the 720’s package, and thus not selling a 720T in the UK. But on the other hand, why sell it in other countries.

Great!

(but you didnt quote any review sites backing up your statement, I think its good to quote some solid evidence rather than a generalised statement which may or may not be true when suggesting a product is poor quality . Just my 2p)

.

Don't buy this TomTom GO (510-710-910) RDS TMC

I purchased a 510 Traffic and this came with the RDS TMC unit. The only way I could get a reception was to attach the end of the aerial to a filling cabinet. I should point out that this was performed whilst in my study and not in the car! In the car you would need to fully strech the cable in a straight line across the window, but the cable is longer than most windscreens!!

I logged the problem with TomTom and they announced these would be replaced but that was nearly 9 months ago and I have not heard anything todate.

Tis true tho' it's a generalised opinion from those whom purchased.

I expect the TomTom site will have a thing or two to say about it, also it's been mentioned in AVforums in the SatNav section.

TMC It don't work people...:x

These are very good.

Late to the party as usual...

If it helps, the Garmin version works quite nicely from my experience. It's not beyond criticism (since I couldn't get a signal at all on the M27 recently).
And you can now get the C510 with TMC (lifetime subscription) for £99 from Maplin

From what I have read its not that TMC doesnt work full stop, its more to do with the sensitivity of the antenna from what I have read, some brands seem to work fine whereas others struggle.
