TomTom GO 5100 Sat Nav with Lifetime Traffic & Lifetime World Maps £259.99 @ Halfords

Found 2nd May 2015
This is the latest from TOMTOM it is due to hit the shops next week. Halfords are running a £20 off for over £200 spend which is automatically taken off your price at checkout. This makes this £239 but only till Monday.

If you use quidco you can get a further 5.5% off as well but this part runs out Saturday (today) at some point.

I know a lot of people probably use mobile phones now for their navigation but for those that don't this may be a good option.

I know it wont be everyone's cup of tea so to speak but please dont vote cold for that reason. This is the cheapest that I could find something that is not even out yet!!

One feature that grabbed my attention was to be able to send from your phone to the tomtom your destination which I thought was really cool.

Anyway I hope it helps some folk and please be gentle with the votes I dont often come accross bargains and just trying to help and return the favour.

Will wait for them to reduce it by the usual 50% that Halfords do 3-4 times per year
At £260 the price is way too extreme. You can get a 5150 in that price range or a camper/caravan version

Price for this promo is not £260 but £240 plus potential minus 5.5% but I get your point. This wont be everyone cup of tea but point I am trying to make is that this is not even out yet on shelves and I have yet to see this any less than £260.

If anyone can find it cheaper please let me know but over its life time for free maps and digital traffic and speed cams it is a good price compared to what some are paying in subscription services.

hi

i think this is way too expensive.

Hi I don't want you or anyone else to take this the wrong way but this is not really about if I or anyone else think this is expensive or not or if I or anyone else think this product is any good or not. The point is that TOMTOM and other sites that are selling this will be selling it at £260 I have found it for less than that using the code.

I thought the whole point of this site was to identify that you can get something cheaper and to pass that on to folk so they can benefit if they were thinking of buying the product. If I am wrong in that let me know. Equally if you are aware of being able to buy this product for less than what I have put please share it for people who may be interested in buying this new product that is due to be released on Wednesday of this week.

Halfords are doing a trade-in your old SatNav for 20% off the new TomTom - might help sweeten the deal

Very true, unfortunately too many people have opinions just for the sake of having an opinion without having any knowledge of the subject in question. Probably a labour voter.

After all the discounts, comes down to £192 with Lifetime World maps...

HOT from me.

I've been a Garmin man for the last few years, mostly because I hate paying monthly extras for traffic etc. But this has it all thrown in - free lifetime maps, lifetime traffic and lifetime speed camera updates. Ok, so the up front cost is quite high, but unless I've missed something you have no ongoing costs.
I think this is hot, and may even consider switching from Garmin, as I hear the TomTom traffic is much better.

The only Garmin that I've come across (the one installed in my car) is incapable of taking a full UK Postcode whereas I know that a TomTom definitely can. From a Postcode of "AB12 1CD" the Garmin will only take "AB12 1", which is not very helpful!
Are there any Garmins with better ability??
When I asked about a map update for the Garmin in my car, at the first service, I was quoted £200!! Just for an update on a dvd for me to slot in!! When I complained about the price Garmin said "We are very happy with the price!" Yes, I'm very sure they would be but to me it was an attempted rip-off!!
