Was cheaper on amazon other day. I got the 5200 for £180
The 6200 is £283 on Amazon
Great deal - ordered thanks
Just use google maps
When it works it's fantastic better than google maps, problem is it's slow and is prone to crashing so you often have to sit there forcing it to reboot.

Also you regularly have to reset the device as stuff like speed cameras just dissapear randomly from the map. You are better of with the TomTom app on the phone.
This is available direct from the TomTom for £187 if you have the serial number from an older TomTom.
Have one brilliant sat nav

Tomtom stopped supporting some older devices, alot of people got annoyed as tomtom said these older devices would get lifetime map updates. So they gave discount towards a new tomtom to anyone effected, not sure if they are still offering this.
I think he means if you have phone up tomtom with a Old serial number off a device that has gone faulty if it is out of warranty they will then proceed to offer you a replacement with a 30% discount. But they work out more than £187. As they are £339 full retail. I got a 5200 same way of tom tom a month ago it worked out at £220 with a free case. The best deal was last week on amazon daily deal £180 for the 5200 and think these ones where £205.

This was the same price on Amazon on Monday as a deal of the day. Very good stand alone device, much better than the previous 5100/6100 version.
This is showing at £283
gone up to £283.76

Youu have a link for this price?
I would vote hot for the price but I can't vote any TomTom product hot as they say it's lifetime map updates, when the truth is that the updates may end a year later. Unless they are saying I'm going to die next year.

(And yes I already know the smaller text says life of the product)
Use waze.com
Made by Google, it's free, has camera alerts, live updates.
Not available at £215 anymore......expire
Anyone that suggests Google Maps is an acceptable alternative to a Tom Tom has never had a standalone satnav. Google Maps just doesn't compare, Tom Tom spend a lot of time massaging the raw maps into something useful, Google might do that but they certainly don't put anywhere near the same amount of effort in and is frustrating for anything but the simplest journey.

This Tom Tom is good, I got one for my girlfriend last year, but given how powerful it'd innards are it's the slowest TOM Tom I've ever used, they filled it with too many bells and whistles and it can't cope.
Wouldn't buy a tomtom product again they remove lifetime maps after 3 years
Tom Tom and other companies make nearly all their profits from maps. If anyone really thought Lifetime Maps meant lifetime they are gullible. They've done a lot better than one free update out of the box and that's it.

Why has this not been expired; it has not been available for £215 since the day after it was posted.....
