And I’ve not seen options for weight limits or low bridge avoidance on google maps or any other car satnav device/software making this device much better than google maps for HGV drivers

Personally wouldn’t go with these, I’ve known a few people have Tom toms and after a few months couldn’t update, Tom Tom said nothing they could do about it and to buy a new model
You don't get lifetime traffic updates with this model either, after one year you have to purchase a subscription. Hideous that IMO, I'll just continue to use google maps for free

Typical of the way businesses think these days, Apple are the largest culprits.

My dad was one of those people and he had life time updates but they still told him too to purchase another one, he’s had quite a few since they came out over the years as he has no idea how to use his phone to do it but he’d never buy again. A few people asked me to help them update but after my dads I wouldn’t even try even Halfords had no clue what to do, it’s a shame though as they was really popular
It says you get life updates for maps cameras and traffic. I have the 5200 and no problem updating

It's always happened on a lot of the cheaper Tomtoms because they are so short of storage.
Voted hot on this deal.

Read it again.. it's cleverly (well if you're TomTom you might think it is) worded to make you think that, what it is is actually life time updates for maps COMMA camera and traffic. The comma is very important.

You get life time updates for everything on the 6250, this deal's for the 6200 though

I'm a HGV driver mate and whilst I'd like to agree, I don't. Unfortunately google maps doesn't specify weight restrictions or low bridges but in time you learn your way around them, particularly as they're all sign posted in advance.

This device would actually hinder me though as it wouldn't allow me to navigate 7.5 tonne restrictions which allow access, meaning I could unnecessarily go miles out my way without needing to.

There are pros and cons however the fact that the traffic and camera updates are subscription only after one year on this device is why I definitely won't bother with it.

Yes people could have bought this thinking it was updated for life on everything good job you have pointed this out, it really is very misleading. I got the 5200 for about £200 last year from tom tom with lifetime everything which I think lasts for approx 4 to 5 years. Anyway Scott well spotted

I almost bought it thinking it was updated for life mate, pleased I double checked it all first and hope I help point it out to someone who may have missed it otherwise
Lol...I originally bought the 5200 yesterday and then saw this on my email from amazon and thought result for an extra £31 over the 5200. Dropped off the 5200 at the post office only to realise that I’d bought the professional 6200 and NOT the standard 6200 so no lifetime traffic and speed cameras .....DOH! Tried cancelling but it’s already packed so will have to refuse delivery tomorrow .

Lower spec phones with 1080 screens seem to be fine with Google maps all day. Higher resolution screens seem to get warm and battery slowly goes flat if charger isn't up to job. Well that's what I have found.. I use xiaomi 4a for my dedicated satnav with Google maps or here app.... Works for me..
I use a TomTom and think it's excellent. The traffic is bang on and the auto rerouting has saved me loads of time over the years.

aside from that would you recommend it?
£220 and no updates? I would save the money and do drugs instead, that's what I've done and I've been successful at it.I don't have a clue where I am a lot of the time but that's what Google Maps is for.
Or you could just learn to find your way around. The country isn't that big
