Tomtom Live Services subscription half price with tomtom - £28.50

If youve got one of the Live series tomtom satnavs, then this looks a good deal if your live service has or is about to expire as its half list price (£28.50) and undercutting amazon (£56). Live services give you the hd traffic which is pretty useful Ive found and for now less than 50p per week

Edit: checked which models; basically if you've got a VIA Live nnn or a GO Live nnn e.g. Via LIve 120 this deal is on. If the number comes BEFORE "Live" eg GO 740 Live - then no deal. A couple of the embedded car manufacturer supplied units are also included

Showing as £47.50 when I select my device (TomTom 540 Live), so looks like only available for certain devices.

This appears to be device specific as my GO live 950 is still £47.50 p/y. Probably trying to retain soon to expire 1st year subscribers. Heat still given

live service not been working for weeks. was on watchdog. no wonder its half price...

Given the publicity surrounding the aledged technical failure of this service, I am frankly surprised that tomtom have the nerve to sell this service right now. If you don't get the service that you've paid for then this seems like a fundamental breach of a relatively expensive contract to me.

Really? my live service seems to be working fine, is it only certain parts of the country, never the less, this is a good price if you can get it

I have a inbuilt tomtom, live services reactivated itself a month after expiring, result. Also not had any technical problems.

I have taken a chance here and bought it, as my Live Services don't expire to March, should I hold off logging in with my tomtom unit until then ?

I have a Go Live 825 and the services are working
How long do we think this offer will last?

it should just add on the 12 months on top of your existing sub. Have done this before with no issues.

You miss the point completely. Live services is not just used for traffic updates.

This offer is not for built in systems either.

when your subscription expire, does it mean you no longer get speed camera alerts? or no updates for speed cameras but still get alerts?

The google search was fantastic so TomTom have killed it off without telling anybody.... Don't touch them with a barge pole for their schnide practices...

Hiya
My Live service finished in Jan 2012 and I get speed camera alerts but as it doesn't update - I believe they haven't changed since the live service was active. Hope that helps

RDS traffic updates are not the same as Tom Tom Live traffic. RDS is slow to get updates and only covers motorways, whereas Live is constantly updating and also covers A roads. I have RDS on my built in Renault Tom Tom and it helps avoid some traffic jams but I would rather have TT Live.

TMC covers other roads as well but live is indeed much more up to date/accurate, it's supposed to collect info from all the live devices that people are using to make the info more accurate. TMC has some huge holes in reception too, there's no signal at all around the Cambridge area, whereas live works anywhere there's a mobile signal.

Just used code TTGYMGBP8 and the TomTom site says it's already been used ????????????????
