TomTom Spark Music - Now supports phone notifications! - £60.98 / possibly 10.5% TCB

The TomTom Spark Music now supports phone notifications (texts and calls) which makes it an even better deal than before. £60.98 with code WELCOMEUK2017, TCB lists 10.5% cashback which if it works would drop it to £54.58. Even if it doesn't work, £60 is outstanding value for something that does multi-sport GPS tracking, swimming tracking, activity tracking and streams music to Bluetooth headphones, as well as text/call notifications. If you want HR tracking during activities you can also pair a Bluetooth HRM (chest straps work, unsure about watch style). Seamless synchronisation with Strava as well for you competitive types.

It was last posted a while back but I feel it deserves a bump with the new functionality!

You sync music through the TomTom software on a computer, unfortunately you cannot do it via the mobile app. Pretty sure you cannot use it for Golf purposes.

is there an alternatives to this? i dont know of many smart watches bluetoothing music

As well as the app you can open a TomTom MySports Connect online account where you sync music and change preferences etc.

The TomTom app is pretty good but the best thing about it is you can get it to auto link to the Strava app - so as soon as you sync your latest activity (run, cycle ride etc.) recorded on your watch with the TomTom app it automatically appears in your Strava feed with full GPS map and everything.

Be aware that the phone notifications drain the battery like mad. I gave them a try on my Runner 3 but had to turn them off. Battery life dropped from a week or two to a day or two.

Apart from that I'm really happy with it, especially for the job I bought it for - tracking runs. If you don't want a heart rate monitor this is a really good deal.

I have one with hr and can't find a pair of bluetooth headphones that will sync with it. Any suggestions..ither than the overpriced tom tom ones?

No heart rate monitor cold for me

Each to their own, but you won't find a running GPS watch with heart rate monitor (and MP3 capability) near this price.

As for the SW3 comparison, this is cheaper (link please if you find SW3 for the price, I'd be interested in buying one) and when used purely as a running watch it has far better battery life.

I have successfully managed to pair several different headsets with it. I had to try a few because most weren't comfortable for running in.

They do seem to be a bit tempremental about picking up headsets after pairing. You have to press the button up and wait for random amounts of time.

I'm currently using a pair of cheap Sainsbury's Kitsound wireless earbuds with it.

How reliable is the Bluetooth (music) once paired?

The GPS is very good, never had a problem with any of my runs. Really quick to lock onto satellites as long as you've synced it recently.

Absolutely fine. You sync playlists using Windows Media Player (old school! Unsure of Mac options) and choose which playlist you want to listen to. Quality is fine. Many complain about syncing issues but I've managed to sync 4 different headset, all of different brands, with no issue.

Thanks mate, this just gets better, I'm loving this watch. I'll pair polar chest strap later. Cheers again!

Used my chest strap this morning - it just worked, no pairing, so simple!

Is this suitable for use whilst cycling? Will it upload route onto Strava?
