They do,but usually to update maps on them cost 3X more than buy one dedicated satnav with lifetime map updates and traffic. I have 3 year old Toyota and to update map cost £109 and too add,map will be from 2014 Q2. Thats why I bought Garmin Nuvi and have 4 map updates a year free for lifetime and Digital Traffic as well.

ordered sat nav online through currys thinking it was a good deal,as i needed it within 2 days i decided to collect in store.at the online checkout it told me i owed £89.99,as it gave me no option to add the discount code which would of made it £71.99.i phoned currys to make sure i would get it at the cheaper price and they basically said not a chance.GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE GUYS,

You just need to go In store, I got my discount applied - no questions asked. BTW offer now has ended.

Deal for the 20% off expired

Am I going nuts or was this supposed to end on Monday? Would have bought one when in Currys and sure the end date was 20/7/15. hey ho.

Lifetime means "whatever TomTom feels like"... definitely not "the time the device works".

Wouldn't bother not her TomTom after it wiped my maps trying to update it.

Bought sygic world maps for 25 quid lifetime updates for my phone , Velcro it to old TomTom windscreen mount

Why tf won't it let me edit my post

Not yet but soon. Still I'm not sure I'd buy dedicated sat nav, but if you want one it's a good deal.

Is the deal still on?

bargain. I have one and tested it in 4 countries so far and worked a treat. If you camp in the sticks, a dedicated device is better IMO..

Loads of reasons to have a dedicated sat nav and not use an expensive phone.

Banned

Just use google maps on your phone for free.

cold, not a full Europe maps, only partial in some countries

Surprised you say that, no, they don't, if you want a satnav, it will cost you a lot more extra.
Also in-dash satnavs force you to look away from the road (down left). With a tomtom you could stick it wherever, some put it on the right edge of the windshield etc.
Also easier to take it to another car (your wife's car?).
Also you could use it on a motorbike/bicicle, even as a pedestrian.
There is also a question of updates as in car ones are very difficult to update and usually costs money.

as far as im aware google maps are on line

sygic etc app on the phone is offline , maps downloaded , all you need is gps connection.

you dont need connect your sat nav to computer ....for everything ...including wiping its memory

What you using the 2nd phone for ? ...and dedicated Sat Nav ...

Can't see why you'd bother with dedicated satnav now , over an old phone

I spoke to TomTom, you legally have to submit a death certificate so the updates will stop.

can you add europe maps to this?

Isn't that what card slots for ?

Kerching.......

At some point they will stop producing update for your device, forcing you to get a new one, or it breaks.
