This is a good price. Aldo supports iPhone 5 in full screen. Don't forget you can get a free 12 month subscription to TomTom Speed Camera's which can integrate with this app. Here what you have to do:

1. Download the free TomTom Speed Cameras app from App Store
2. Follow the process for the free 12 month subscription.
3. Go to the TomTom Shop in THIS UK and Ireland App and to restore purchases.
4. Restore the 12 month subscription - and jobsagoodun.

how needs it with turn by turn in Google maps???

how needs it with turn by turn in Google maps???

People who need offline maps where no data connection is available (like a tunnel or unbelievably still large chunks of the UK) as I've found out much to my annoyance (on Vodafone and O2).

Google Maps FTW :-)

I'm thinking of buying a £25 gift card for £20 somewhere and it will only cost £21.99

Other maps are also discounted.

I was about to buy the Western Europe map until I saw recent reviews. Many recent reviewers are complaining that since Google maps have been pulled by Apple, the TomTom apps no longer work as they utilise Google maps. So, can anyone who has one of these maps tell the rest of us if it still works ok?

21.99 for £30

Tesco club card deals are doing £25 iTunes card for £12.50 in club card vouchers.

Great price, got mine for about £32 last year by using the 20% off iTunes credit offers that were floating around. Haven't found a suitable holder for my new car but on the old one used to plug my phone into a Griffin AutoPilot and have music coming through, with TomTom reading out over the top. One thing to note, on the MINI (and probably a lot of other iPod integrated cars), to have TomTom through your car speakers you must be playing music. Might be worth getting a 2 hour blank recording if it bothers you.

Only bought the UK version as don't go abroad often enough to warrant the cost/GB usage of the Western Europe one.

@cheaperbythe12, the Google functionality they refer to is the local search thing, I'm yet to update to TomTom 1.1.2 on my iPhone 4 but when you try to use the Google local search it just says it's no longer available. Shame it's gone but it takes two seconds to use Safari to google an address.

Bargain I think

Does this include a traffic subscription or is that extra n if so, how much?

Oh and the new google maps app is truly amazing, but nobody wanting a sat nav app could genuinely say theyd use it over an offline maps one..

If only there was a way to save 27 of your pounds and get this for free...

I'd break out of jail to work out a way to do it, if only! Oh well.

Ordered. Thanks. etc.

How on my iPhone 5 running 6.0.1?

So is the only real advantage to this app is that the maps are stored for offline use? Also, what happens when TomTom update their maps? Does this get a free update or do you have to buy the upgrade?

TomTom UK app works fine without Google Maps... they use their own mapping data. I haven't tried Western Europe TomTom, but doubt it would any different.

Having tried just about every satnav app I can confidently say that TomTom is head and shoulders above the rest. This is a great deal.

Traffic is an in-app purchase, 1 month = £2.49, 1 year = £20.99

I prefer CoPilot personally, but a good price if you must have TomTom

OUCH!

Pay for turn by turn directions? LOL

It's 2012, not 1997.

with itunes cards can you download apps? i thought it was for music videos and movies. Am I wrong?

I found with the 900 maps, Tom Tom has dramatically improved. I'm guessing it's the Apple input into the project demanding quality.
This app uses the 895 maps which were about when iOS 6 was released so I wouldn't expect to see anything in the way of the Apple input yet but you will get the map updates for free as they come out. We bought our TomTom Europe at 1.4.1, 2 years ago and we have received every update since for free. Back then the maps were on 845 I think and now 895.
So, I believe we have a bright future with TomTom maps due to the recent criticism and Apple input. Don't quote me on that though :-)

I used Tom-Tom phone app to take me to a industrial estate in Poole, apparent it was door to door but it completely failed I drove round this rabbit warren or an industrial estate like a muppet, I then used Google Maps which took me within 50yards...

don't waste your money, you even have to pay for speed camera locations

Yes, you can download ANYTHING from the iTunes store (within the price-range of the voucher amount)!

Well worth every penny, I previously had separate TomTom, and not a patch on this, having the processing power of you iPhone really helps, it seems to keep up a lot quicker and a really simple app to use.

Can't you download maps for Googlemaps for offline use on IOS like you can on Android??

I have the TOMTOM UK app on iOS, and it's brilliant. This is the best turn-by-turn offline sat nav app on any device (having owned CoPilot LIVE on Android GS3 also).

Picks up satellite very quickly and the timing prediction to your destination is very accurate.

Well worth it at this price, baring in mind a standalone TOMTOM sat nav will cost you at least £60.

I don't know how to get this for free. As I said in my first post "if only there was a way..."
Sorry.

Why get that when you can get something like the INRIX app which is free?
The quality of the TomTom output is mediocre at best.

Jailbroken iPhone = free

I have this app and I love it, would happily pay £25 for it, having tested it

Same question from me......

Great! Was going to get this when it was £30 but with my £25 voucher from Tesco this is great price. For those asking why not use Google Maps? If you want more of a full sat nav with extras like change voice, estimation of arrival, distance to waypoints etc TomTom is great (I have used it before). If you want a sat nav to get you A to B use Google Maps if you want a bit more from your sat nav TomTom is great. Btw it has built in Google Search for locations too
