The Tomy Walkabout Platinum Digital Baby Monitor is a fully digital baby monitor that uses DECT technology, which gives you 120 channels for interference-free operation and guaranteed privacy. It includes all the same features as the Tomy Premier Advance Monitor, but in addition the portable parent unit has a vibrate alert that increases as baby's crying increases and it also has a last feed timer switch. The monitor range is up to 300 metres in an open area. It also features a two-way talkback function, so you can reassure baby from wherever you are, and communicate back from baby's room that all is well. The baby unit has a remote controlled nightlight, while the parent unit has sound sensitive light display and digital temperature display (which it also records).

Day and night, you'll be the first to know if baby makes a sound. Leave your little one to sleep soundly with the baby unit nearby. Then monitor even the quietest of sounds on your parent unit. Wear it on your belt or place it close to hand, from the top of the house to the bottom of the garden. So, when you need some time to yourself, enjoy all the freedom and flexibility you want with all the peace of mind you need. Mains adaptors included. For portable use, the baby unit requires 4 x AA batteries (not included). Suitable from birth upwards.

Tomy monitors are not just for babies--people up and down the country are using monitors daily for other purposes, such as: Toddler monitoring (keep a listen out to the little devils as they play in their rooms); In-house communication (maybe for resting elderly relatives upstairs); Outdoor communication (for those who spend more time in the shed or garage than they do indoors!).

ive bought 1 of these 4 years ago in asda for £20, i think it was a strange misprice but i do reconmend its sturdiness as ive dropped the parent monitor in a bucket of water(with bleach) and down the toilet twice, not to mention baby sucking on it and playing with it and countless times its been droppped and its still going.

ok after the last time being dropped in water its not as crystal clear sounding(it used to pick up them breathing from across the room) but its still working 4 years on so cant complain

ive only had to replace the parent charging unit(my fault) but that was free as i just contacted tomy and they sent a new charging unit for free and within a few days
very good product i've had one for 4 years. the only problem is the batteries die after about 9 months, i've contacted tomy a couple of times and they always sent out new batteries for free (i might not always tell them the truth about how old the product is)
I found this tomy model less than useless....always cutting out, very noisy, when the signal goes the light comes on on the baby's monitor (disturbing my daughter) etc etc...I wish id looked at reviews before buying.... although I complained to tomy and they exchanged it for one of there new range (very good monitor) without question , which suggests to me I may have not been the first with this complaint

i dont meen to put a downer on the deal ,it is a good price compared to some sites ... just wish I could recommend the monitor .
...and on a plus point , looking at the posts looks like tomy has very good CS:-D
I've had one of these for the last two years, it worked fine for the first year then the parent unit battery started to fail, it cuts out all the time, beeps and dies within less than a minute of being removed from the charger. The battery in the parent unit is not a standard AAA or AA rechargable it's a custom one they you can buy from Tomy for £20 but they never have it in stock.
Friends have also had the same problem with this so I know I'm not alone I regret buying this and will always look for alternatives before buying anything made by Tomy in future
