Yeah, I had the same idea, but GPS seems to be a common omission from these cheap tablets. Maybe a GPS dongle via Bluetooth would work.

Yes that would work fine (unlike the iPad Air!)

Heat but looks like it has never been more than 66 quid..just how cheap they can go...I am now starting to get bored/annoyed/**** off with cheap tat breaking so try (when I can afford) to buy better quality gear so it lasts longer !

Hmmmm this review looks a bit dodgy.

What a bargain, it is worthwhile for this low price

I wanted this cheap tablet so that I could take with me to on holidays and not worrying too much about breaking or losing it . I do have Ipad generation 2, so I will compare it with this. Some buyers say it has some defect but mine worked straight out of the box. I already had a Google account, so signed into that straight away, no issues. You can only use google e-mail to log on the tablet otherwise you cannot register the tablet.

The display is 1200 X 600. Sound quality is very good, I wouldn't say as good as the Ipad, but hey for the price its worth good enough. Display is not as good as the Ipad, but surprisingly good for the price. Build Quality and performance is also surprisingly good for the price and I have reviewed on some of the Chinese tablets and have problem with the batteries but my battery lasted a lot longer than I thought it would be. It receives wireless signal very well, no issues. Did I mention the performance! IT'S VERY GOOD!. I downloaded the apps without issues. You can't really compare this to a "High End" Tablet, but whilst there is a very big price difference, there's not a lot of difference in quality and performance. It does everything I need it to, at a very low cost! I can't fault it for the price and quality.

İt didn't come with a free KitKat as quoted

In my opinion the tricky bit is working out which products are more expensive because they're better designed/made, and which are more expensive because of their brand.

Any other suggestions for cheap 9"+ tablets?

Looking for one for my mum to 'try out', so don't want to get an expensive one as she may not like it.

Wondering about the 8" ones on ebay for £46 that DO have GPS (as she ideally wants to use it for flying apps). Bit smaller than I wanted, but a start.

Don't, just don't.

Save yourself some CC points, use a discount code, and get yourself a Hudl 2 for ~£60 worth of points.

Hi uncle Benny, love that film

I ordered with express delivery so when it turns up I'll give feedback.

Ordered it for my mum as her first tablet... Was going for the new hudl 2 but given my mums biggest gripe is screen size I thought I'd give this a go.

Problem with Hudl 2 is that it is Intel, not Arm, so performance seriously compromised. Google it to see the performance difference.

Bought one as I'm an app developer and needed a 10.1 tab to test on. It's not bad speed wise but the screen is really budget quality very cloudy and low res.

So what is the best alternative to the Hudl 2 ? I'm looking for tablet and was going for the Huld 2.

Well mine arrived about an hour ago.

Packaging is non-descript - whate box with a pic of a generic tablet on the front - the charger came separately and is a hard-wired 5v charger with a small pin connector rather than mini-usb which is a little annoying.

The screen is ok - low res as expected by certainly usable - viewing angles isn't great but again, it's usable.

It weighs less than I was expecting, my girlfriend has an old iPad and it is a LOT heavier than this.

It arrived with no charge so had to plug it in.

It all seems ok and nice and quick response - no visible lag.

My only issue is that the screen is either overly sensitive or mine has a fault - it's registering screen touches when there aren't - this means trying to type my email and password into facebook to log in has so far taken me 10 attempts - I keep getting random characters.

I'll give the screen a good wipe and maybe try a software reset and see if it improves, else it'll need to go back.

If the touch issue wasn't there then I would have been very happy.

i have had the same problem with other cheap chinese tablets, i got that problem when trying to use the tablet while charging it, how are you using yours

Best alternative is to ignore misinformed opinions, go to your local Tesco and try it out for yourself.

1024x600.... shame it's not better. Still a good price for a 10 inch.

I got mine today but it's going back, whilst its good value its just not up to par for me. The screen viewing angles are bad and gaming can be a bit buggy also iplayer glitched a few times.

I really wanted to like it but I cant.

Not bad for the price really , works well as a big Sonos controller which is all I use it for.

One thing , cannot use Sky Go , "Sky go will not work on rooted tablet" tried all of the how to's to get it working but to no avail

Update: So after playing with the tablet for the weekend and also going into Tesco to take a look at the new Hudl 2 I have decided this tablet is going back.

Additional things I found or just couldn't live with: Screen aspect ratio...it's very long and narrow, when turned in portrait mode it look rediculous and the circular icons become oval shapped.

The sensitivity went away - the only setting I changed was in accessibility where I change the hold option for moving apps to a medium setting.

The viewing angle thing was a big problem especially when in portrait mode where each eye pics up something different lol - but more than that, the screen is very washed out. Compared to the Hudl 2 which has a physically smaller screen but is so much more usable because the quality of the image is much better - I would compare it to having a 28" CRT TV watching a VHS recording vs a 22" HD TV showing a Bluray movie.

The battery life isn't very good - but I knew this going in - I think I managed around 5 hours of use with kids entertained with Google Now questions to find photos of the 'cutest xyz'

The tablet was intended for my mum as I previously mentioned, but given it's her first tablet and she is far from technically minded, I think this tablet would put her off.

Dont know why people buy these pony tablets its cheap for a reason, because its sheyite

Some people cant afford the expensive ones and others don't want to spend money on something they don't need if the cheap spec is enough for them - there are loads of good reasons
