Not the highest quality perhaps, but if you have some tapes of stuff that can't be found anywhere as an MP3 this would be perfectly adequate.

Let's face it, this is going to sound awful with more hiss than an 80s Alba midi system. If a jobs worth doing it worth doing well. Realtime recording, editing, naming etc. Start of with something half decent and it may be worth your time.

If you have a semi decent tape deck you can use the line output and connect to the computer's line input and use Audacity free software to edit to PC which is all this really does. Sure it's cheap but it'll be a pretty lousy tape deck as no dolby noise reduction and such like but good if you have no tape deck.
