Used to use it a couple of years ago. Then my local places started selling stuff that was cheaper to buy off the menu, so I stopped using

I use this a bit in Manchester, and sometime the portions are random, all depends on who is serving you. it is a great app.
Tried this from three different places but wasn't impressed by the portions from any of them.

I use this in Manchester too! Only time I got a bit annoyed was when I found at chopstix it was cheaper buying directly from there, I think it was within last hour of trade and can choose from leftover.
Better off just buying off the menu

Agree re the chai time. I’ve been to Katsouris a couple of times. Yang sing didnt give much, and they made such a palaver I didn’t bother going back. Keep thinking of going to that tapas place in Barton arcade.
Every time I’ve used this they seem to have not noticed or forgotten and end up cooking me fresh portions off the menu, great idea but only a couple of times have I actually been given “leftovers”
I just gave this a go, but the nearest to me is 16 mile away, so your mileage may vary. Heat for the idea/concept though, I hadn't heard of this before.
Its a great wee app, pity the food cant be given to the homeless....
Online reviews seem to be really good will need to try it

I downloaded it an hour again

Don't fault the app if you can't find any locations. It's up to your local businesses to sign up to them.
There's loads around where I am in London, lots of Turkish places and even cafes. I used it at my local Chinese buffet a number of times. They ended up bypassing the app altogether and basically give you a tub to fill up of whatver food is left over, cheaper than what they offer via the TGTG app.
The guy did say they have had people complaining about the food on offer some nights, in his defence, the he did say the point of the app is that you get whatver is left over, not a selection off a full menu!
The point of these app such as too good to go is to tackle food waste so these places should fill the bag to the full with all left overs otherwise what is the point?

I read a few reviews where someone turned at a restaurant who ended up cooking fresh food and letting them eat in. Reviews are good but more places need to register because wastage of food is pretty high. In fact supermarkets need to sign up they wastage is very high

Yes and no. When they first started, the box was massive! Like imagine a large dinner plate as a container! I think they were actually supplied by TGTG. The restaurant then downgraded to a burger and chips size container, and now it's currently in one of those microwavable takeaway containers. Can't complain tho, 3£ to take your fill is still a bargain. They don't actively advertise their offer, I've seen people pay full TGTG price. (5£ish I think) to fill up a container I've paid 3£ for

The restaurants are meant to allocate a set number of meals for sale on the app. Or list as Out of Stock when they have run out of the foods. The problem here is, because yiu can place orders way in advanced on the day, the restaurants may at times sell more food orders then theyll actually have left over. Which would I guess result in what you read happening, being cooked fresh food. Or, where stated by someone else earlier, you get measly portions of food.

System isn’t fool proof but restaurants should be looking to get rid of as much food so they don’t need to bin it. Better someone eats it rather than disposing of it what say.
Used it a few times at yo and it’s good value when they have good stuff but it always seems silly I pop it as they are closing and they still insist on 5 plates even though it has to go in a bin half an hour later and the idea is to stop that
Yeah if you're not near a big city, don't bother. 30miles to the nearest one to me.

Unless it's a buffet in a 5 star hotel

The buffet places in Chinatown though are traps for non Chinese people.

You may be right, but either way, 3£ for a tub of foods I like is a win for me! I definitely don't use the local Chinese buffet as any sort of benchmark for quality food lol

I don't eat it everyday
It's less than once a month. Plus I only go in to fill up on the prawns and dumplings.
