Think he meant bedroom/landing ceiling and connecting to power feed in the loft.

Be aware that you should not normally install Heat or Smoke alarms in areas where the temperature can drop below 4 degrees, as it may cause them to trigger false alarms or make them "pip pip" as per low battery warning - so fitting in a loft is not such a good idea.

is it easy to wire these up if I tap into a power supply in the loft

bought an alarm panel this morning off these guys and now need some heat alarms for house re-wire bought 2 x heat and they worked out at £7 each inc delivery which i thought was a good price

Casual search on the bay finds this near-identical item £6 cheaper at £21.99 delivered from Top Rated Seller:

Not if your measure for what makes something better is power consumption. I had one of those high power halogen lamps attached to a power consumption meter, it was frightening, despite seemingly rarely on, it was one of the highest consumers of electricity in my house. Would welcome an LED alternative, but at this moment in time, there's none that can provide the same light output at a reasonable cost. mike

this was cheapest i could find bay is at £26.

Spoke to the seller last week, they are adapted by their supplier "in the UK" for PIR use & suitability. He also informed me some larger wattage LED units are expected "sometime soon"

Good price

cheers for the info Lundy, i'll get one (soon) & crack it open to have a gander at it's hook up, i'm always wary of chinese "stuff" since being involved in production of goods & Q.c. (ing) back in the day!

I purchased one myself fro my dog run as it illuminated enough, the pir is wired direct into the fitting and the fitting comes with about a 2metre 3 core flex. Going to be purchasing a few more for my family

Excellent price for a 10 watt single emitter, this is the first of it's type i've seen with a p.i.r so i'm a tad dubious as to whether it works properly or is a "bolt on" (ther have been complications with led & pir integration in the past. The chassis for this emitter seems to be the standard seems to be the standard these days, only other concern as to whether this is earthed, some feedback on amazon (not this specific unit , let's make that completely clear) are not, causing some concern to purchasers. Brilliant price & heat from me, I like stuff like this for dog runs, security & illuminating the larder, will check em out! Thanks for posting OP

One of the best bonding agents around, so good it’s not really available everywhere like most high street DIY stores, once stuck this stuff stays stuck and that in the wrong hands is not always a good thing, i.e.: use it to install a kitchen when you remove worktops half the wall comes with it. Good price if you want to buy bulk.

video here > pretty amazing stuff works underwater

I found these guys to have the cheapest Megaman lights I could find They are £7.30 but if you order over 30 then they go down to £7.19 with free shipping!

Just don't buy any from ebay. 4 for £10 seems a great deal, but they all died within a month.

FWIW, I decked out my house with lights from here I found them after some really extensive research to be the best priced at the time, and also I liked the amount of information they provide you with. They are basically Mirrorstone led's from China but at the end of the day they work well and you cant complain at the savings. Some might take a bit of getting used to but I dont notice the difference anymore, and the really light bright ones I couldnt ever tell the difference. Cheers Phill

These are closer to 50w halogen replacement. They are more expensive and I don,t know how long they will last as they are a new item. Just for info. so you can all make your own mind up about which is best for you.

bengutt - If you purchase the ones using the link I posted, 1 Driver would be required for every 2 lamps as these are 10watt drivers. I know you can get bigger wattage drivers but I got mine through a wholesaler in lancashire which were 10watts and I have 3w MR16 LEDs so I used 1 driver per 3 lamps. Hope this helps
