In the tradition of great screen conmen - one of the few with a visible tail - "Top Cat" holds a top spot in the hearts of cartoon fans. The smooth-talking New York City cat, known as T.C. to his kitty cohorts Benny the Ball, Choo-Choo, Spook, The Brain and Fancy-Fancy, is always on the make toward a big score or swindle. And the bothersome - and ever-exasperated - Officer Dibble is relentlessly on his case (although always a step behind) - throughout 30 fast, funny episodes.

Bargain or not, you have to give Top Cat some heat!

You're costing me q small fortune tonight Andy. Great programme.

Dear me, Top Cat! That brings back some memories!

We loved those cartoons on TV.

Which came first - "Bilko" (starring Phil Silvers) or "Top Cat"? My recollection is that Bilko was based on TC.

Whatever, well spotted. Heat added.

Bilko came first.

The actor who played Doberman in the Bilko series was the voice of the Benny character in the Top Cat series.

I'm old enough to remember when the BBC showed it,it was called Boss Cat as Top Cat was the name of a brand of cat food here in the UK at the time.....

from my memory it was called Top Cat on UK tv at some stage.......

Yes it's called Top Cat now, just wasn't when it was first released.

From my memory, the show was always shown on the credits as 'The Boss Cat' but the theme tune remained unchanged as Top Cat, hence we would have always remembered it as Top Cat, which is also how I think it appeared in TV listings. Nobody ever referred to it as Boss Cat.

Brilliant, thanks

Were there really only 30 episodes? As a kid I seemed to watch it every week for years.

Brilliant deal.. I've ordered, cheers OP

what a classic

Great, now the bloke from Go West can replace his lost copy. Uncle Peter won't be able to tape over a DVD!

Weird. I remember seeing this in HMV a couple of years back and it had a sticker saying HMV exclusive for the whole set and you could only buy the show as volumes from other places.

I was also surprised when I found out there were only 30 episodes made. It's seemed like every episode was a new one

Class deal!
