Lowest price I can find for this chip get it while it is hot!!!

Borderlands 3 and outer worlds must be claimed by Jan 2020 on the following website
amdrewards.com

- but can be sold for good money to lower the price of this chip even further if you aren't a fan.

reviews below:

techradar.com/uk/…00x

pcgamer.com/uk/…ew/

trustedreviews.com/rev…00x

tweaktown.com/rev…tml

some FAq's for this chip:
  • Yes it expensive but this is towards the top end so look lower in the range if this isn't for you price wise - the 3700x is a great chip at a lower price.
  • It will work on most 470 chipset motherboards just make sure your bios supports it.
  • 570 chipset boards are tailor made for this cpu but a build taking advantage of this chipset could be higher in terms of cost when taking into account faster memory and pci-gen 4

Judging by all the reviews, the frequencies should be taken with a grain of salt. Gamersnexus has a good review with tons of real case uses of what you can expect from this CPU series' frequency range. They also compare competitive cpus and other amd series.

Hi Dan,

great can you provide a current link to a better price? Not defending the deal per se, if you have somewhere better let us know. These chips are in constraint due to the 3950x hogging production. will it change? - yes. share the link of a reputable cheaper price and will shut down the thread. cheers Spc cow

The 3950x hasn't been hogging production its just simply demand. The 3950x has been pushed back simply because of demand of other products. If TMSC had spare capacity it would be less of an issue. But many simply forget it takes 95 days to produce the chips and then they have be binned and then defused. Then packaged up..

A good four months. Good luck in getting any ramp up right..
Above RRP, not a deal
voted cold. Its not a deal. Price may be a little bit higher elsewhere but not significantly

But first of all delivery details "Get it Thu, 9 Jan. - Mon, 20 Jan. 2 months wait for the processor!!!

Second: scan sells the same for £523.67 + 5.48 delivery.
scan.co.uk/pro…h-p
I would not mind to pay £7 extra and bought it from scan if I needed one
Great chip for professionals but please don't waste this just for gaming!
Great product but deal is stone cold, can get it cheaper from Amazon.fr.

What should I upgrade to instead as I'm on a 2700x?
malachi17/11/2019 08:12

for purely gaming? I would beg the question, why do you need to upgrade right now?

What I mean is, if you are looking for more FPS, your graphics card may be a better solution discovery

I'd wait a couple of weeks for the 3950x to come out. That might bring the price down a bit more or you'll get four extra cores for similar money.

More power!!!! I play games and emulators on it. I've already upgraded the GPU to a 2070 Super for medium 4K gaming.

Problem is, if there is a stock issue. 3950x will just add to the problem.

if you went from a 2700x to this for gaming, you would very disappointed at what you would achieve considering its just cost half a ton before resell of the 2700x.

Of course you would see a small boost in FPS but you have purchased a 144hz @ 1440p card for 4k gaming so that will already be maxed out. You would of been better off getting the 2080 super which would given you better performance and be cheaper than now buying this.

Do not upgrade. No current Ryzen CPU will provide a significant boost. 2700x is more than fine for years to come, unless you plan to pair 2080ti.

What about an upgrade for my 6700K / 2080Ti? I'm finding I'm CPU limited in some games like Battlefield, Modern Warfare (large scale maps)

2070 Super vs 2080 Super is very bad performance to price value. Otherwise I would of got a 2080ti instead but I wasn't willing spend so much on a high end GPU when the 3080 series is due out in a few months.

If money are no issue, go for it.
But 3700x is capable of driving the 2080ti, without bottleneck.

I know it is, but it would still be better value than upgrading to this CPU for gaming

My recommendation is you do neither and re-evaluate on the next gen CPU/GPU haha.
I don't understand the whole above RRP therefore not a deal thing. The people who snapped this up for £499 are few and far between. It's a market economy!! Does no one remember what crypto did to GPUs a few years ago? Deals were still posted.

The sneaky folks in this thread know that 25th and 29th are coming though.
