Just received the following email from TCB giving an extra 2.50 cashback on any spend of £10 on any merchant. It seems to suggest that only those who received the email are elegible for the offer but a friend of mine who did not receive the email was also able to click through the link and it seemed to work for him as well.

Your Exclusive £2.50 Cashback Bonus

It's time to beat those January blues, so we're giving you topcashback.co.uk/lc?…180 on 1 transaction, when you spend £10* or more. You'll have to hurry though as this offer isn't around for long!

It’s easy to get your extra £2.50, click the link below which will take you to the activation page, activate the promotion and once you make your transaction the bonus will appear in your account. When your cashback is payable, your bonus will be too. Only

Topcashback rep on his way...

He won't be long ... he is just declining my manual claims
Edited by: "hotmik" 12th Jan
If it is account specific then TCB really need to ensure only people who qualify for the offer can activate it. Any competent software engineer could probably do that change in 5 minutes. Would make their users a lot happier.
never receive any email from them even if it’s for everybody.when i queried the christmas day offer they basically told me up yours, despite being able to activate the offer and wouldn’t accept any response on the support ticket. on 2 previous open for all bonus cash backs the transaction has failed to track. they aren’t alone though, quidco have done me over aswell.
a word of warning- it may let you activate but it doesn’t mean it will payout

To be eligible for the £2.50 Cashback Bonus promotion, you must be a member of TopCashback.co.uk and have received an email to your registered email address. You must activate the offer by clicking through the link in the email, which will take you to the activation page and activate the promotion, prior to making an eligible transaction or by clicking the link above, activations will be reported back to TopCashback.
Never receive any of these emails - but when I click on the links here, the promotion always activates Thanks OP.

From previous experience you will not be eligible even though it says the offer has been activated.

i think the tcb and quidco reps have already made the fact clear that just because you can activate the offer it doesn't mean you are eligible to receive it unless you have been invited via email or have clicked a link advertising the offer on the actual websites landing page when you first log in.

It won't work. Although it activates, the £2.50 will not track. Tried it recently with a similar offer that was email only.
The Quidco £2.50 offers are better even though min spend is £20 because it's open for everyone.

Yeah the xmas day didn't track for me but if I remember rightly didn't we have to change the link to get it to activate anyway?

this one seems to activate without any altering but, I suppose until I receive an email, I'm not using it as guaranteed £2.50, if I do want to purchase something before it runs out then I may as well try but I wont be using just for this offer.

Thought so too - thanks for confirming. The OP should be modified to say account specific in the heading itself to avoid any confusions.

I had the same issue. So, don't expect the bonus if you didn't get the email.
Typical. Purchased from eBay this morning then received the email.
I wish TCB would have a pop up or the like when you open your account page to tell you, I never receive the emails despite being opted in. I seem to think a while ago you used to be able to see these deals if you clicked into 'offers' but I've not seen that for a while :(.
I used to go mad for these cashback deals for 2.50 . But it's a false economy, because I always TRY to find something to buy so I can save 2.50. I rarely need the thing I buy, and my drawers an d cupboards have loads of crap in them because of this.

(I don't know where the pound sign is on my keyboard, it makes a # instead)
I tried the deal mentioned at Chistmas and followed the link and was able to activate but when it came to it no cashback showed and after issuing a support ticket TCB declined as said it was for receivers of emails only. I have never had an email;(

Last year we ran a lot of all member bonus. Some were £2.50, others were £5. In total there was over £50 worth and so plenty to rest assured that we are the UKs most generous cashback sites.

At points, we do select members to be eligible for additional members but that doesn't mean we have forgot about the rest of our member base. We value each and every one of you becuase without you, we wouldn't be able to bring you the UKs most generous cashback rates.
Best wishes,Matt
Could someone who has received the email please confirm if they are a 'Plus' member or not? (i.e. paid the £5 annual fee)

It's probably just random selection but I'm a Plus member myself and I 'Never' receive these emails!

This is feedback we will certainly be taken onboard. We are always looking at how we can make the bonuses clear for our members.

Oh dear, that's quite a hefty lot of cashback that has been declined.

If your claims have also been declined you should get a reason and this should help you out preventing it in the future. For example, if it's another referrer getting paid it may be worth making sure all web browsers etc before using our site.

I obvs do all of the above but about 19.625% aprox of all cashback still gets declined
yes I did the spend £20 get a fiver and it ever tracked whereas Quidco always tracks in minutes.
thanks anyway op
When will those who haven't got the tcb offer email get it by. Thx.

I make much more on quidco ? Im not sure thb.
Quidco never pay me out
Topcashback just isn't worth it anymore. Hardly ever works, more like Maybecashback. Alternate programmes can often be much more lucrative anyway, take a look at Avios referrals for example.

Usual excuses implying it is user error or browser issues. TCB customer support needs to change the script, most posting here know how browsers and adblockers work, how to use incognito/private mode, etc. etc.
Once again... Activated promotion... Made qualifying purchase... £2.50 cashback hasn't tracked. What a surprise.

Also had a £40 cashback claim manually declined today from Topcashback after several months of waiting - nice - double whammy.

Used to love TCB and recommend them all the time. But they have been getting more and more stingy over the years. Hardly any incentives seen by me as an end user, who has made £2.5k cashback over the last few years. Not sure who these other loyal customers are, that keep getting the incentives again and again?

Quidco more often has bonuses, and better rates. Tracking also seems slightly better with Quidco than TCB via Firefox. Also very hit and miss with TCB and Chrome, for me at least.

Either way customer support is still better with TCB than Quidco. But I am less effusive about them. It is a bit more "meh TCB" at the moment.
Made over £400 from TopCashback in 2017 so I can't really complain! Thanks to TC for another bonus...
I've had about 6 things just not track at all since Christmas (also the Xmas day bonus didn't track) including a hotel booking that I'm a bit annoyed about. Maybe they're keeping all the commission to pay for the £2.50 incentives they are offering selected people

Did you get the email for this promotion?
Finally persuaded myself to sign up for Topcashback following the posted £15 Argos deal. Tracked, no problem, said cashback would be paid within 7 days, several days later, transaction disappeared and no sign of the cash. Didn't take any persuasion to go back to Quidco.

hotukdeals.com/dea…765

Is some of the declined cashback collected by Topcashback I hear people ask? I certainly hope not, it doesn't seem likely this would happen.
