Yes, seems a dangerously unreliable pump.

Can you suggest a better pump for £6?

No. But that's not the point I was making was it? I do not want, even for free, a pump that is unreliable. If you read those reviews nearly all of them one star complaining that it broke, one guy was up the Alps in bad weather! Perhaps it was a bad batch. Perhaps it is an unfair review thread and not indicative of the quality of the pump, but on an item that you can end up desperately reliant on, I don't want to take chances.

There are plenty of things that I'll take a chance on. A seemingly unreliable pump? That just isn't worth it.
Good price....bad product.

I'll stick to my bruised and battered 12 year old Blackburn pump :). Still on the same O-rings, and still completely reliable. If only it had a pressure gauge!

Great little pump, ive had one for a couple of years and still going strong, paid over double this. Hot!

I also have this pump and it has served me well over the years.

I've used this one for a couple of years as well. Very good little pump -- gets my tyres up to 120 PSI without TOO much effort.

I bought another one because at this price, I might as well keep a spare.

I'm a prime member but price is £14.98?

i have one of these and it is rubbish, for some reason it blocks when you push air in, worked well at first but now is off the bike and i am now waiting for someone to look at it who has a few of these pumps knocking around his garage, to see if he can fix it.

Probably not but a taxi ride is likely cost more than £6 if the pump lets you down. Do yourself a favour and buy a good pump. Anything else is a false economy...

From having read the Amazon 1 stars and the CRC 1 stars, I got the distinct impression that several of the people just didn't know how to use the pump properly.

Either way, everyone who got one should thank those who abstained; bargain!

None of the reviews I read talked about pump failures straight out of the box. They seem to fail randomly (and on the replacement pumps too).
When you read the same thing time and again, user error becomes a most unlikely cause.

Personally, I'm happy to take a punt on various things IF the price is right. But by its nature, a pump is something you only ever use when you really need it. So I'd rather pay a few extra £££'s towards a pump that has good reviews.
