This is twin tuner SATELLITE PVR. Not suitable for Freeview. Might work for Sky but I am not so sure about it. And for Sky you'll need Freesat card anyway.

NOTE: This PVR is BYOD (Buy Your Own Disk). That mean, you need to buy IDE HDD to use PVR functionality.

NOTE2: To be able to use dual-tuner functionality, you need to have 2 connections to LNB. That means, Dual-output LNB is required.

NOTE3: To get this price, subscribe for Maplins newsletter and use vouchers the'll send you. AFAIR, it is 7 quid off 100. But you can spend 20 quid more and use 15 quid off 200 voucher.

Polite request: if someone knows where to get this PVR cheaper - please advise.

Thanks Kommunist

So its suitable for Satellite but only may work with Sky? Presumably wont use the Sky Plus menus etc? Plus you need to buy and install your own Hard Drive plus you need dual LNBs to use the dual tuner.

Am I missing something here because this seems like a lemon.

This device is not intended to work with Sky. You can install your own dish or connect it to Sky dish (if you have one) and receive Free To Air channels (there are literally thousands of them). Full channel list is ]here.

You can get most of channels that are on Freeview from Astra 28.2 satellite (this is where Sky dish is pointing at). Perfect for people who can not get Freeview from terrestrial antenna.
Also, if you are an expat then you can watch TV from your country (if said country got TV channels on sat, of course :)).
No subscription for FTA channels required.

You're welcome
