Or "crazy bull black grape"
I find Aldi's Rosso Italiano at £2.99 perfectly drinkable too and a lot better than the 3 for £10 wines that the large supermarkets sell.
Well done Aldi!
Heat added. Its a really good bottle of red.

oh really will have try that for the wife
It's all personal taste of course but try the Grapevine Merlot at £2.99 too. Heat for this and I'll grab a bottle (if there's any left!) next time I'm passing...
Looking forward to trying this hopefully soon.
This is lovely, amazing quality for the price. Only problem is its a bit of a hit or a miss if you can get it (in my local AlDI anyway).X)
Why did you have to post this!! I have been buying it for over a year and since the article about it beating £30 wines its been increasingly hard to get hold of. If you havent tried it try the Aldi Cotes de Rhone, also aboit £3.59 with a red label on the front that is also really nice. Not struck on the £2.99 merlot though.
Combine with the mirror voucher for 10 bottles for £30.59!
I love this stuff!! Heat added
wine all tastes the same anyway!

Hint of cherry my ass....
Isn't this RRP and the only store you can buy it in?

Either way, it is a nice drop of red. I bought 24 bottles the other weekend

I spy a troll! I'll bite.

I can only imagine your taste buds are shot to pieces. Merlot tastes smooth to me, Cab Sav strong, Shiraz a little spicey, Sangiovese very cherry-like etc.... all as they should. Buy a white Viognier and tell me it does not have a hint of apricot or peach. Dare ya.
I got a couple of bottles of this at my local Aldi on Sunday, although I haven't tried it yet. They had a handwritten sticker saying "max 2 bottles per customer" although I don't know if they were enforcing this.

must have only just implemented this, or only your local store, as I bought 4 boxes recently (not all for me I might add before people moan)...
yea, only two bottles each at Feltham
Been drinking this for a couple of years. Its a really nice wine, worth more than the price you pay!!
Cheaper than a litre of turps , I'm in !
I've been wanting to try this for some time, but my local Aldi never seems to have any.
I tried this for the first time after all the furore in the papers. I wasn't that keen, thought It was rather bland.
Wasn't this wine 'championed' on Sunday Brunch week last Sunday...??
good if you can find it!
bought some yesterday - bit underwhelmed really after all the hype - was expecting something a bit special but nah doesn't do it for me.
After researching this wine and its awards a bit, it seems a great deal. Here's one of the reviews I read. They all echoed the same conclusions: http://www.windowonwine.co.uk/torolocotempranillo/

Hot (but not mulled!) X)

OOS in our local store. Will have to try again early morning before they been cleaned out. If they get any more stock in that is.
Tempted to vote cold to stop everyone else finding out about this been OOS quite a lot recently.

Some good, cheap wines in Aldi.
Some left in Milton Keynes Aldi, right in front on you when you walk in. Was there half an hour ago.
Quite a few in the Blackpool store. Looking forward to trying it.
Exeter..pinhoe store has loads.
Nowhere near as good as the hype, it's drinkable and inoffensive but just doesn't do anything for me. I did buy a bottle of Rioja ( Solar de Castro ) that was £6.99 and that was good ( it's got a label on the neck that says "91 points Parker" ). Well worth it for a treat, tasted even better the next day, originally a special offer in April 2012, I bought mine from Llangefni, Anglesey on Saturday.

Now tried and I reckon the £2.99 merlot is better value.
I bought a few and really liked the Toro Loco but haven't been able to get any for weeks now - if anyone still monitors this thread can they tell me if it's just my store (Swindon / Stratton) or if it's OOS everywhere? Staff at store were very helpful but thought it was discontinued or at very least going to be unavailable for a while.
It is still instock at my store, however I dont think its as good as it was 12months ago when I first started buying it. Give the Cotes de rhone a try £3.69 red label on bottle. Very nice
I found cases of Toro Loco available for the first time in months today at Swindon Stratton store - hope that helps anybody watching this thread
