If you are desperate to find a spanner that fits the nut you didn't know anything would fit, this is it.
Some absolute balloon of a buyer at B&Q thought it would be a good idea to stock Garthdee B&Q in Aberdeen with approximately 100 18mm spanners. I suspect this would be enough to supply the needs of the whole UK. Who ever uses an 18mm spanner? Even then is it a metric nut you use it on.

They wonder why retail outlets struggle some time. Maybe it's because they buy in such needless junk. So it's a worthy inclusion on HUKD as something else for us all to aspire to buy, keep and never use.

I should add these are perfect if your nuts are a little tight, are bigger than the average 13-17mm range and need a little loosening.

I don't know whether to vote hot or cold? Oh, to hell, I'm voting hot for your spot-on explanation.

You should tight the bolt before you loosen it. Make it so much easier.

I prefer to add a little heat and/or lubricant to get a good release. Though sometimes a good bang gets it going.

I see what you did there(_;)

LOL!!!

Have some much deserved HEAT purely for the PMSL description and story with this!

Really made me smile!

LOL!!

In all the time I've been playing with nuts. I don't think I've ever come across an 18mm one.

All the more reason to think someone at B&Q has a few loose by s and bolts to have so many.

Would your average BMW owner show a spanner to it in anger?
Maybe BMW think it's like a security nut size and that the tool is a speciality item that can be sold for hundreds.

I only relayed a stereotype

Plenty of VW suspension parts need an 18mm spanner too. Heat from me.
